Power Chain Problems

I had my power chain installed on February 12. 2 weeks later however two of my upper incisors started hitting the brackets on my lower incisors whenever I closed my jaws together. I went back to the ortho and he took the power chain off. He said the reason my teeth were hitting brackets was because ...

OMG I just had my husband take a picture of the roof of my mouth and my biggest gap is noticeably smaller after just a week! I haven't been able to figure out how to post pics yet though, but I can see visible progress on a lot of my crooked spots too. This is the first time I've seen visible progre...

First Adjustment

Hey all! Know I don't post here too often but here's my update. I had my first adjustment appointment on February 12 and February 12 was a happy happy day because my ortho took out that horrid bite plate that I've had since September. I'd been in the bite plate for 5 very long months. I can't begin ...

My were placed one-by-one and I have Damon braces. I laughed out loud in the orthos office because he'd already placed 3 brackets before I realized what he was doing!

Day 5 in Braces

Hey all! Just got back from Dallas and my first days in braces have been pretty easy. No major pain at all, just a little soreness in my lower front teeth. Then again those teeth get more sore than this just from flossing so they're pretty sensitive anyway due to the wear from my bad bite. My cheeks...

LOL! My hair's reddish brown rather than gold, but I almost had a "Marcia Brady moment" when I first saw the finished braces! As for the lisp, I haven't noticed any additional speech issues since I got the braces this morning. The lisp might be a little more pronounced now but nothing like...

<Laughing> My daughter is so in love with my new braces she's pretending she has her own! she's also had her own imaginary bite plate as long as I've had mine.

I wonder if this is what inspired the phrase "down in the mouth" cuz I'm definitely feeling blue.

Finally Braced!

After all the delays and rescheduled appointments I got my braces without problems this morning. I didn't think my bottom teeth needed any straightening but witht he brackets on they look obviously crooked and the wire waves up and down like water on the ocean. So far, they don't feel nearly as bad ...

Due to a bunch of delays and rescheduled appointments, I ended up having my spacers in for a month. Several broke or came out on different occasions and I had to get them replaced so the newly formed gaps between my molars wouldn't close. I had some spacers break and then get embedded in my gums. tw...

Damon Braces and 2nd Day Pain

I'm due to get my Damon braces put on tomorrow morning and I've read a lot about pain on the 2nd day. The day after tomorrow, I'm due to take my 4 year old daughter to Dallas for 4 days. We live in Northern California so it's a 3 1/2 hour flight. All the literature I've read says that there's a lot ...

T - 2 days and counting...

Hi all! It's been a while since I last posted here. My previous posts were back in September and October regarding my bite plate. Well, here it is almost 3 months later and I'm still in the darn bite plate...and still don't have my full braces yet. Other than the perpetual cotton mouth, I've gotten ...

Update

When I started this thread I had just had my bite plate put in. I thought it was awful and that I'd never make it the 2 or 3 months I'm suppose dto have it. It's been 2 weeks and 2 days and I can actually say that I've pretty much gotten used to it. My speech has cleared up a lot and I'm eating pret...

I thought about looking for a new ortho after the 2nd reschedule, but I couldn't hold it against him when I found out his father had just died. I lost my grandmother in June so I could really feel for him. This is also my dentists office and I've been going there for years...since before my daughter...
