I feel for you. I was wired shut but only for 10 days and I just could not stand that nasty feeling in my mouth. Rinse with salt water, rinse with the mouthwash they gave you-or should have- peridex. Try to brush as best you can and I usually let the toothpaste sit for a few minutes afterwards. You ...

Will retainer fit differently if teeth move?

I do NOT want my teeth to move, period, after extractions and surgery! I think I am just being paranoid but how would you really know if your teeth had moved. Would the retainer fit differently? I think mine "settled" just a bit after the braces come off. I mean I look at them constantly :o...

I had a spot like that as well. It looks like a decalcification spot.

Mine was sanded down, it is gone completly. Maybe ask them to sand it a little and see how it looks then it may improve it enough that it doesnt bother her.

Mine went completely across the front two teeth sort of like a rainbow.

Thanks Kerry Hawleys are the "good ole fashion retainer", I had an open bite and my ortho was afraid the plastic retainers, the ones like a mouthpiece, wouldn't hold as well. My open bite was huge and so he felt like the hawleys would be stronger in my case. They are not bonded. I can take...

Your profile is alot like mine (well before my BSSO) I had an open bite and retrognathic mandible. He decided against the genioplasty during surgery. It was just too close to call. So he told me beforehand while he was doing the lower jaw if he liked the chin where it was he would keep it. If not he...

She let me pick out the colors. Red on bottom and sparkly blue on top. Making the immpressions was kind of s...

Sometimes- YES. I begged and pleaded to not have 4 teeth removed. 1rst Bicuspids, but in the end there was just no way that I had room in my mouth for my teeth. I put my braces on then 6 weeks later had the teeth pulled. I guess I just needed some reassurance about the braces moving my teeth. I do n...

Jaswi- My OS did it along with my BSSO. I have no idea how much it cost. He decided to do it at the last minute and just did it while he was doing my jaw surgery. I am sure its not that expensive. It could probably be done in the office IMO. I have posted some pics before and after at various times ...

Removed my molar bands

Now I am sore. I am on my way to being debraced in a few weeks. Ortho went ahead and took off all 8 molar bands on Wednesday. (2 days ago) Those molars are really sore, almost like an adjustment. Anyone else? I hope this is normal. I go back in 2 weeks for retainer impressions. Then get my braces of...

I was wired shut for 10 days or so. No it was not fun, no you cannot eat anything solid. It has to be liquid and I mean liquid. I had a syringe that I placed at the back of my mouth and pushed liquid through. I was so swollen that even trying to talk was just muffled. I could not drink through a str...
