Hi jfranche, Your experience with Invisalign sounds ideal! I think my aligners are more noticable because I have spacing between my teeth. The plastic runs across this space, making them easier to see. I still feel uncomfortable with the aligners in (well, duh, I have a ton of plastic in my mouth) b...

I've been in invisalign since november and I'm pretty content. If you are thinking taking them out to eat is a pain you're crazy. Ouch Mike, calling me crazy! lol Actually, I will be on aligner no. 8 tomorrow. I am still not thrilled with taking the aligners out and replacing them several times a d...

Okay, you guys are scaring me. I am also 48 yrs old and on aligner number 8 tomorrow. I was wearing my aligners for two weeks each but with the last aligner the Ortho changed this to three weeks each. What would have taken me 9 months to complete, will now be one year (as long as there are no more d...

drinking with aligners

Hi flattop, I will be on aligner no. 8 tomorrow and have been drinking mostly diet coke since the beginning (with aligners in). I heard that drinking through a straw will help keep the drink off your teeth, but I don't always use a straw. I know Dr Rick is correct, saying that the acid will sit on y...

RooRoo

HI RooRoo, We spoke before. I'm really interested in hearing more about your Invisalign and then ceramics. I am considering switching to ceramics because the Invisalign are so noticable on me. Course, people were always staring at my teeth anyway (big spacing), so that probably doesn't matter much. ...

Invisalign

I do have Invisalign and have to admit, they aren't as great as I thought they would be. First, lots of people have commented on them...so much for invisability. At least for me, it may be that they are more visable on teeth with spacing, which I have. Yes, you can take them out but it feels like yo...

invisalign

Hi Cathy, Oh, now that makes more sense...33 aligners on the bottom. I also grind my teeth. I find myself really clenching my teeth together when I wake up and have to tell myself to relax. During the day, with this second set of aligners, I like to chew on them. I have this tiny space above my bott...

aligners

Hi Cathy, Yes, I brush my aligners with toothpaste every time I put them back into my mouth. So that's 3 times a day. I'm on aligners no. 2 and there is much less pain. These aren't bad at all though it still feels weird having all this plastic in my mouth. I'm still lisping, how about you? Wow, 33 ...

Invisalign

Hi Cathy, I've had mine for 9 days now. Mine hurt a LOT for the first 5 days at least. So much that I had swollen lips (which looked pretty good...hee!) and my nose was numb! I couldn't eat the first two days so I drank a shake and took lots of tylenol. I was surprised at how much they hurt but afte...

Invisalign braces tomorrow

I'm getting my Invisalign braces in the morning tomorrow and now I'm getting cold feet. My dh thinks I shouldn't get them. It's like a roller coaster ride, at one moment I'm excited to finally be getting them, then I think about the actual braces and I sort of panic and think, What am I doing? Help....

Just got the phone call that my Invisalign braces are in! Yahoo! Now I have to wait till next week to go in to the Ortho. They needed a big block of time to put the speedbumps on...12 of them. How many speedbumps/buttons does everyone else have?

Excited,
Debbi :D

Invisalign

Hi Cathy and Mike, I'm waiting for my aligners. They should be in any time. I thought I would have them before Thanksgiving, but now it's looking like December. 10 weeks Mike? Wow! That's a long time to wait. I'm glad you mentioned the speedbumps (buttons) and how the aligner has a groove for the bu...

Invisalign speedbumps?

I went in to veiw my clincheck video (before/after teeth) and was totally surprised to see all the speedbumps (aka buttons) on my teeth! I guess 12 is not many but they are on all my front teeth, top and bottom. I hear they are tooth colored or clear and fairly big, like glued on ceramics. Well, if ...
