Why were bottoms removed?

He removed the bottoms because he said they were done and looked good. Unfortunately from my understanding, without the bottom braces my open bite can't be fixed now.

I'm just not even sure how to approach my ortho. about my concerns. As everytime I've mentioned anything that I thought wasn't right, he immediately gets an attitude. He acts like I'm just complaing for no reason. He's even said a couple of times that he doesn't see the different things that I've po...

I see a bit of open bite on your sides. Do you have pics from when bottoms came off to compare? On your top front tooth, consider adding some bonding on the corner. It depends how much you want filed off. It's hard to tell in the pic, but you obviously want the top front teeth aligned so one is not...

Doesn't look too bad to me. The major issue is that right front upper...the occlusal surface (bottom, cutting part) is not level. I bet if that can be fixed up (Ive heard of grinding and filling) then it will be pretty good! I agree that when he fixes the bottom of that tooth that it should look a ...

It's hard to tell in these pictures, but if I were in the same situation as yourself I would most definitely get a second opinion. They don't look bad but they don't look like 3 years of orthodontics, perfect teeth either. BUT, when he re-shapens that front tooth it might make a world of difference...

Would you be happy with this end result? (Pics. included)

I've been on this journey since Nov. 2004 when I started with Invisalign. When that didn't work I had braces put on. My top braces (which I still have) were put on in April 2006. My bottom braces were put on in Dec. 2006 and removed in April 2009. My ortho mentioned at my appointment today that they...

Thanks so much for the reply. You said in your post "An omega-shaped (Ω) spring made of heavy-gauge wire, spanning across the palate as part of some removable orthodontic appliances (e.g. the Bimler or the Crozat appliance). " I'm confused though because I was supposed to get it on top and...

Good news and also a question...

When I went for my adjustment on Wednesday I got my bottom bands off, and they wire tied all the teeth with brackets together. I had an impression done and get my bottom retainer on April 1st! Woo hoo! I chose a glow in the dark neon yellow/green. I wanted purple, but they didn't have it in the glow...

Hey Lavender - My orthodontist was more in the "they don't grow back" camp, but my dentist told me it's possible. Based on my own experience of seeing one of my black triangles shrink significantly, I'm going with my dentist's idea that it's possible. (Also, I didn't mean to imply you don...

Lavender, could I ask what your original treatment time was quoted for? Well, I had Invisalign first for 1 1/2 yrs. that was supposed to have taken care of everything. When in fact it only made everything worse. When he applied the braces I was told 6 to 9 months would most likely fix everything. W...

Well, it's been quite obvious to me that 1 1/2 yrs. ago we were no where near the finishing stages. NOW, were getting close to that.

I've got some gum recession too. My dentist told me it's possible my gums will come back - so it's not exactly hopeless. I've noticed that an area on the bottom has closed considerably, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the gums on top will follow suit. I just had my teeth cleaned, and my dent...
