Your teeth have a great shape and color. Once treatment is done, they will look perfect! Sometimes treatment doesn't take as long as the original estimate so I wouldn't worry too much.

Good luck!

I've been swamped with things to do in preparation for my move so I haven't been too good about posting updates. I have a debonding appointment on July 3rd!!! It's pretty exciting. I will go in during the morning and the braces will be removed--a mold also will be done. Then the essix retainer will ...

They are her teeth and therefore her decision. I would encourage you to be supportive of her whether she gets the braces or not. There are many factors that affect her decision and sometimes it just isn't the right time. Underlying her talk of "looking young," maybe she is worried about co...

I had crowding on the top and a lot of crowding on the bottom. The top was aligned within four months and the bottom took seven months (the lower lateral that sat behind the rest was not attached to the archwire until the fourth month). I had no extractions; I did have an expander on the top that wa...

I had an expander (Rapid Palate Expander) for a little over a year. It worked quite well for me (got rid of my crossbite in back and gave me a nice wide smile). The only issues I had involved getting used to it: there is an initial bit of a lisp talking, it can be difficult eating certain things, so...

I have had braces for nearly 11 months now and I generally eat and drink what I like. I think you just need to try to be careful when eating. I like chips as well--I've not had any problems eating them...no brackets have fallen off. I also still drink Diet Coke. I have begun cleaning my teeth a lot ...

Wisdom teeth removal

Hi all, I had one of my wisdom teeth removed about a year ago because it was hurting but did not get the others removed at that time. The other wisdom tooth on the bottom is now beginning to hurt a bit. I was wondering what the "recovery" time is for getting all 3 wisdom teeth extracted at...

Thanks for the responses, KK, smallbutmighty, bracedagain, cbradac and Meryaten. smallbutmighty- I'll be moving over 16 hours away (several states away from where I am now). I had an appointment with to get a cleaning today, and everything is looking great with my teeth (no cavities). In fact, the h...

It looks like you have seen a lot of movement. The midline may correct itself once all your lowers align...that is what happened with mine. It does feel really strange when all the lowers are aligned--it is amazing what they can do with archwires and springs.

Good luck! Keep us updated! :D

I also got elastics for the first time this past Tuesday. My orthodontist said 24-7 wear but I can take them out for eating and brushing. I think it would probably be ok for you as well...you may check with your orthodontist (or the assistant).

Good luck! :)

The only person I complain to is my husband. I think he knows better than to say "they're only braces." Of course, I also had an expander for over a year...he's been very sympathetic about it all. I wonder if your friends ever had braces...maybe they just cannot empathize with how you're f...
