Well, my ortho finally started rotating my upper lateral at my last adjustment, so about 8 months into treatment. First they had to make room so the central incisor was moved forward (for a lovely hillbilly smile). This last adjustment they downgraded my wire to that first round flexible one that mo...

I doubt you can get that clean. At your next appointment have them slip a silver tube on there instead of clear. I have silver & it doesn't stain at all.

Do you have a power chain by any chance? I've had one on the bottom row for awhile so I'm completely used to that. Today, got one up top, too, just 4 front teeth. Those babies really put the pressure on and can be painful.

Chances are that you won't be contagious anymore by the time you get in there. I say if you are not hacking all over people, go in and get them dang things off!!!! Good luck!

I've got an ouchy lateral right now, so yes, one tooth can hurt like a booger. They are rotating this one so pain is expected. Advil is my friend.

I also have missing molars and that good old floating wire. My ortho leaves the wire a little long and then bends the end in a circle so it's not constantly popping out. This can be a little painful on the inside of the cheek if you have a thicker or stronger wire (like I have now) but with those fi...

Did you have a bit of an overbite before? Maybe your ortho is fine tuning your bite before debanding. It's worth a call in to him/her to ease your mind, don't you think? I have the 0000000000 configuration on the bottom row & have had this off and on for the last 6 months. For me it was to close...

I guess what I would do is politely ask if the ortho will check in with you before you leave--at least at the appointments where you're getting new gear. Just explain that you want to make sure your treatment is on track. It shouldn't be too much to ask.

Mine is all corrected as well just with braces. Powerchains on the bottom took care of the big gaps there & that seemed to be 1/2 the battle. Still waiting to see if elastics will be necessary or not but no surgery talk for months. I'm pretty optimistic. Good luck to you, too.

I agree with Pirate Wench, I'd keep it off until you get a chance to talk to the ortho. If that sets you back a few days, is that really so bad? Better not to take a chance.

I feel a lot like Kodius says a "snaggle-toothed hillbilly" myself and have for quite awhile. I'm about 8 months into my treatment. They have moved my upper right incisor so far forward & down that when I smile it's practically the only teeth you see. I know this is to make room to rot...

Three Musketeers. Man, you know your teeth are sore when you have to cut up a very soft candy bar!!! Of course, Elaine made this famous on Seinfeld so maybe it's not so bizarre.
