Experiences with SARPE or MSE
I've been recommended MSE for a narrow arch before jaw surgery, much more V-shaped than normal. My only worry is the asymmetrical expansion, and similarly with SARPE, just the surgery itself and teeth mobility afterwards and the risks involved. My teeth have already been orthodontically expanded (wh...

Re: Lower jaw expansion for crowded teeth.
Jaw expansion is possible, you just need to find a good surgeon willing to do it and is familiar with it. I would check out MSDO if I were you, it's surgically expanding the mandible. You are better off with a hybrid distractor instead of a tooth one to prevent relapse in my opinion. These surgeries...

Re: Back pain/body posture and jaw surgery
In my own experience, when the jaws are too small thus causing a small airway, it's a chain effect- my shoulders started to slump, lead to kyphosis, which led to pelvic tilt issues, and after jaw surgery there is no need to carry your head forward + up to breathe. Of course posture work still needs ...

Re: Very happy with the results!
I'm happy your surgery went well! For the cheeks, was something like HA graft used? I heard that for surgeries with Gunson they apply HA which can augment only a couple mm at most if needed to reduce the 'chimp' look that jaw surgery sometimes brings. Sounds very interesting- I wonder if it would ho...

Getting a sleep study done
Does anyone have experience getting a sleep study done for sleep apnea? What is the test like? I was recommended to do it before pursuing jaw surgery because it can provide better reasoning to insurance that surgery is a necessity. I've only had a few episodes over the years back when I didn't know ...

Re: Reversing Extractions and Getting Jaw Surgery
I had no extractions, but all of my lower teeth were pushed out of arch and now I have receding gums and my roots are showing, including TMD problems. Upper jaw was retracted for a 5mm overbite. I'm in the same place as you, but my orthodontist completely sweet-talks me and refuses that everything i...

Any surgeons that do MSDO?
I would be really grateful if anyone knew where I could find information on MSDO or how to get it, or anyone's experiences with it. I currently have teeth that have been pushed outwards for both jaws orthodontically (which never fixed the narrow, high arched palate anyway, so that was kind of a wast...
