How is the progress going? Looks great so far.
I have bite blockers too, they really don’t bother me, but my clenching has stopped.

My orthodontist is great and amazing.

I got a backpack, the smaller kind with the drawstrings.
In the bag was an excellent kit that included some fluoride rinse, a proxy brush, travel toothbrush, wax, floss, floss threaders, and Ortho picks.

I have ceramic. They are less noticeable than metal brackets. My orthodontist didn’t charge me extra for ceramic, cost is one reason why metal are usually chosen over ceramic. I have found pretty comfortable.
