I'm sad to see the board isn't very active. I was very excited to find this website, but I do have to say the search function has been useful and even if its not active it's nice to see the old posts and have some other people's experiences to go by during this process!

Hi! I'm new too, I'm almost 32 and have had my braces on since November. Ceramic (with metal on the back teeth) and looking at possible extractions for overjet. Good luck!

I have ceramic but sometimes I wish I had gotten metal. Metal seems smaller and I like the look better. I get colored powerchains and ligatures so I don't care to try to make them "invisible"

This is so nice to see celebrities with extractions. It helps me feel better because sometimes I get discouraged in my decision making when I see horror stories online. I'm trying to decide and I've been pulled both ways.

I do, and it has been worse since braces. Even worse still now that I'm in elastics. A few months into my braces, I cracked the outer corner off of a tooth while grinding at night. i can't wait to have the braces off and use a night guard to protect my teeth.

If I have extractions it will be close to a year into my braces treatment. It seems awkward to me but we weren't sure of extractions in the beginning.

I'm so scared of this. I'm still trying to decide what to do.

Did your ortho charge more if the treatment time was extended significantly? Luckily mine will not, but I did sign an agreement in the beginning that if I needed to, additional costs may occur. I was just curious how this is for other offices!
