I know 2 guys who have had braces as adults. Don't let it put you off that more women have than men. Think of the end results!

I was the same and echo the others that it will get better. Partly they wear down so you get a closer bite and partly you get used to them. Some food will be easier than others. I find salad leaves particularly tricky as they are thin but do need chewing. You'll find you adjust what you eat.

It's amazing to think they can change the mid line. Before I started on this journey I had no idea how complex it all was. My ortho said it would take 18 months total but to my mind there wasn't much to do. I'm thinking the main time thing may be getting the gaps closed and everything settled.

Hi. What are people's experience of the time taken for extraction gaps to close? I've had 2 top teeth out, 5th in (sorry don't know technical terms) and was just wondering. It's been 3 months and I reckon it's a third closed. Just moved off round wires onto square.

I know this is old post but I came in looking for others who are finding the move the square wires really painful. I don't have any of the cuts and sores from the initial time but I can't bite down without pain. I think it's worse than the initial wires, I literally can't chew anything.
