Lastly and most importantly; the other useful action that a Waterpik can do is clean your bathroom sink!!This is for those folks that have not had this ahha moment yet.
Yep! Works a treat around the taps and sink hole.

I also use it for cleaning my jewellery.

Re: Let's get real -- How important is flossing with braces?

Before braces I flossed every day. With braces I gave up flossing, it was just too time consuming and some teeth are so close together that I cannot fit the floss between them. I occasionally use an interproximal brush. I use a waterpik several times a day and this must be working well because my Or...

Re: anyone here have a Class II Division 2 malocclusion?

I have class 2 div 2. Been in traditional braces for 2 years with insanely heavy class 2 elastics doubled up. Unfortunately, my bite is not cooperating and I may end up just giving up. Hopefully you have a better experience! That is disheartening. Was surgery an option for you? What does your ortho...

Re: Appointments

I still have my first archwire and it has been nearly 3 months since I was braced! I have self-litigating braces so longer time between adjustments I guess.

Re: Relapse prevention of deep bite (not overjet)

I'n funny how everyone seems to know that molar extrusion is a terrible idea in adults, EXCEPT for my former ortho, or course! She was such an idiot, un freakin believable! And I'm suffering the effects first hand, just as described in the literature: full relapse and TMJ problems. I just got the r...

Re: anyone here have a Class II Division 2 malocclusion?

Hiya, Yes I have the exact same, my braces go on in 3 weeks time. My two upper front teeth are pointing backwards intowards my mouth. I also have 10mm overjet and an overbite. I am having extractions aswell. (Probably is rarer as no one has replied) Thanks for responding, I was feeling a bit lonely...

anyone here have a Class II Division 2 malocclusion?

I would love to know of someone else who has this diagnosis and what treatment you are having or have had. Apparently we are very rare!

Re: Relapse prevention of deep bite (not overjet)

I'm usually the naysayer here but it really depends on how the bite will be opened. I too had a very deep bite, worse even: if your top teeth cover 90% of lowers mine covered 110%... My Ortho, probably unaware of the abundant literature on the subject, tried to open my bite through molar extrusion,...

Re: Relapse prevention of deep bite (not overjet)

Balanced occlusion should allow your teeth to contact in such a way that they will not shift- the retainers maintain the teeth in the desired position long enough for the bone and ligaments to settle permanently, and the lack of excessive pressures (which are caused by malocclusion) will mean your ...

Re: 60 and braced

   I must admit I was skeptical, but of course everyone who is so supportive was correct. The all over pain is finally gone!! It started to improve at day 7and now at day 10 is essentially gone. I still have that crazy tightness and rigidity, as well as constant awareness of th...

Re: 2nd molar brackets not connected (upper and lower)

My ortho left my top 2nd molars on both sides not connected to the archwire and also unbracketed for pretty much my entire treatment. He only added the brackets and had them connected to the wire 2 months ago when I'm a little over a year into my treatment. I thought it was a little odd but I was a...

2nd molar brackets not connected (upper and lower)

Hi. I am 2 months into my treatment and was wondering if anyone else has their 4 back molar brackets not connected to the wire? The ortho says he will connect them at my first adjustment . It seems strange that all the teeth aren't connected to the wire right from the start.

Glad the mouthwash has helped! I felt the same with all the stuff in my mouth, I felt almost panicky at times. Yes it definitely does get better!

Re: 60 and braced

Hi Gia, congrats on your braces! Some excellent advice has already been given here such as getting a Waterpik (I am in love with mine) and using wax when needed. I found that Rincinol mouthwash has been the best thing to heal my mouth which got very torn up and sore in the first 2 weeks. It isn't av...

Deep bite (not overjet) relapse prevention

Just wondering what your ortho has prescribed to stop the relapse of your deep bite (ie where the top incisors cover too much of the lowers) and whether this has been successful for you. I am still in braces but am worried that as soon as I stop my elastics and get de-braced that the deep bite will ...
