First adjustment today! And I had just gotten to the stage where I forgot I had braces on sometimes 😂 They put in thicker 16 wires. A few of my teeth really did not enjoy the pressure of putting the new ties on, but so far I have just a small amount of pressure all around my mouth but no major pain....

The procedure itself is quick for one tooth - like 30min from numbing to leaving! The worst pain I thought was the numbing wearing off and transitioning to the 600mg Ibprofrin. I had my grafts done prior to braces, and now I go to perio for checkups each 3 months while I’m in braces.

I had two gum grafts to thicken the tissue before braces - it’s really not too bad! Avoid talking for a day or two and eat soft foods the first week and you’ll be fine!

I’ve had braces almost a month now, and I’ve settled into a routine of waterpiking before brushing both morning and night. I just love how clean my mouth feels with the combo, and then I know no breakfast is stuck in my braces before heading to work. I’m wondering if there’s anything bad about water...
