Re: expanding palate 8mm without surgery possible?
=Whythelongfacenay How long have you had the Homeo Block and hows it going? How long will your expansion take? Where is your dentist/ortho located? To attach pics you can click on the “add files” button under the “attachment” tab below the msg box when you’re typing your reply! Hopefully that makes ...

Re: Non-Surgical Adult Expansion is work (26y.o)
Hi ged1ortho!
Would you be able to please show some before and after or atleast a current picture that show the expansion changes and diastema? I would love to see and show my orthodontist here in California. So many orthos don’t think it’s possible without surgery.
Many thanks!
Patricia

Does any one have experience with The Crane as an alternative to surgery for recessed maxilla
I stumbled on to this face pulling device called the Crane. It appears to be a reverse headgear device that pulls the maxilla outwards. The website is incomplete but there are images of one promising case where the maxilla of a woman in her 60’s was pulled significantly forward (presumably without s...

Re: Adult non-surgical palate expansion at 37
It sounds like we have similar issues. I am in my 40s also suffering from vertical maxillary excess which as I have been advised, is a result of my extraction orthodontics which started at 9 which guided my facial growth vertically rather than horizontally which in turn leads to a host of major issu...

Re: Non-Surgical Adult Expansion is work (26y.o)
I see you were told to turn your palate expander .25mm for 6 weeks so it looks like .25mm per day x 42 days would give you 10.5mm of expansion. Did this happen? Do you happen to have images? I am extremely inspired by your story. In my experience, it has been very difficult to find orthodontists in ...

I would love to hear how your treatment is progressing and if you have been able to successfully expand your palate as an adult without undergoing surgery.

Re: How many attachments before you wish you had normal braces
In my opinion there is a certain point when orthodontists use so many attachments with Invisalign patients, the patient might as well opted for braces or at least ceramic clear brackets. You can use elastics with Invisalign.

Re: canted smile and midline made worse by braces treatment
Like you, my cant and midline became worse after orthodontics. In my case it was my second round of orthodontics. My orthodontist didn’t even notice because it is considered slight (though not to me) and when he was about to remove my braces I addressed the growing midline discrepancy and canting is...

The causes have been postulated as...

Re: How Strong Is The Bond To The Tooth On Self-Litigating Braces? Can I Attach A Reverse-Pull Headgear To Them?
My understanding is a functional orthodontist buys into a different paradigm than traditional orthodontics. So for example, traditional orthodontists believe adult palate expansion is impossible without surgery since the midline suture fuses after puberty whereas functional orthodontists disagree wi...

Re: jaw surgery over 50?
Yes, when you have your maxilla shortened or your uppers intruded, this can lead to midface laxity or loose skin in the mid face. You have the same amount of skin but less bone and
bone acts as scaffolding.
