Re: Sarpe surgery booked need advice on aftercare
I'm 3 weeks post op from my SARPE. The side effects of it are more annoying than the actual surgery. I really only had pain for 2 days, then just when I woke up bc I was sleeping semi-elevated and my jaw would feel stiff from not moving. I still have my stitches (almost gone) so I'm mindful to not p...

Re: Gap size after SARPE
The purpose of my post was just out of curiosity. I'm not here to compare myself, my gap size, my process, my recovery or anything to others. It was sheer curiosity. I'm also not concerned with things looking worse before better, that's commonsense to me with this whole process. I have a 5 mm gap an...

Gap size after SARPE
I had my SARPE surgery 6 days ago and am recovering really well, according to me and my surgeon. My ortho told me that I'd be turning the key for "at least a month". At 2 turns per day = 1/2 mm per day, I'm looking at a huge gap. I'm already a smidge over 2mm. How big did your gap get?

Re: Better Late Than Never!
Congrats on making these huge steps and getting this all started! I'm just starting this process myself and am in my mid-30's. Putting off having as family until this is all over.

Re: June/ july 2018 surgery buddies
[quote=happyfeet post_id=502952 time=1530043003 user_id=32093] I'm having my SARPE surgery on July 16th. I've had spacers in for the last 4-days and boy do they hurt! So far my treatment plan is: SARPE -> Expander -> Invisalign (8 months) -> Braces (1-month for surgical wire only) -> Double Jaw Surg...

Hi all!
Long time stalker and 1st time poster. Just had my SARPE yesterday. Lots of mixed emotions as I've been working for 2.5 years to get this process started and I'm already over it, but I have such a long way to go.
