EmilyTravels, I think you are entitled to one free set of retainers as per your plan. I'm in Canada and the cost to replace a lost or broken retainer is $200 CAD. They are not cheap but may be worth it for peace of mind.

Re: Waiting Weeks for a Retainer?
[quote=Jethro post_id=503492 time=1532036475 user_id=11864] Sorry to hear of your situation. One would think that if anyone on the planet understoond how quickly teeth can shift/relapse it would be an orthodontist! LOL. I saw this Stay Tray on this site: https://www.dentakit.com/staytray.html . Perh...

Waiting Weeks for a Retainer?
I have clear retainers after being debraced a week and a half ago, just on the top. Bottom was left without retainers to let a space close. Now, my teeth are crooked. My ortho was unhappy with how quickly my teeth moved and even figured I would still have a gap. Now I have to wait until August 8th (...

Gummy Smile or Jaw Surgery?
Hey everyone! I'm looking for some feedback on the 'gummy smile' surgery. I consulted with a periodontist in the first year of my treatment, but was in braces for almost 2.5 years. He agreed that I had some extra gum and could laser off two cm or mm, I can't recall the measurement. I guess my teeth ...

Re: terrible bite/ wisdom teeth
I had a 100% overbite so I totally feel your pain. It was pretty much all the way corrected before I had to stop treatment early due to root resorption. My tooth look fabulous though. I do still have some issues with my bite sitting strangely but I use the orthodontists trick to settle it. Tuck your...

Re: Avoiding white patches (decalcification)
Great question! Not sure if you've gotten your braces off yet, but my normal cleaning routine was pretty simple. I used that little proxy brush above, below and on both sides of each bracket as much as I could. Then, I would floss. For brushing, I would never brush in a circular motion...instead, I ...

Clear Retainers and Very Loose Teeth?
Hey folks! I went well over my treatment time for braces and was expected to get them off later this year but due to root resorption, I got them off two days ago. Despite the issue with my roots, I'm so happy with my teeth. I was shocked looking at myself and then in the middle of talking to the ass...

Root Resorption/Strong Facial Muscles
Hi all, Hopefully I am posting this in the right place, I have read the rules here but am kind of flustered with what's going on in my braces journey that I may have made a mistake. Anyways, my situation is kind of complicated. I got braces right after my 24th birthday. Estimated time was 22 months....
