Hello! Don't worry they should be extra careful aroumd your retainer. Calculus tends to deposit anyway let alone when you have a retainer no matter how meticulous you are with your teeth. Hello there. I am a postgraduate orthodontics student. I would strongly advise you not to. There is no evidence as yet to prove the effectiveness of orthodontic treatment for the cure of TMJD. Usually TMJ requires lifestyle change. Please let me know if I can be of more help. Hope you get well soon
