Re: Adult non-surgical palate expansion at 37

It sounds like we have similar issues. I am in my 40s also suffering from vertical maxillary excess which as I have been advised, is a result of my extraction orthodontics which started at 9 which guided my facial growth vertically rather than horizontally which in turn leads to a host of major iss...

Re: ALF Appliance - is anyone having treatment using this ?

[quote=Tokamec post_id=502551 time=1528277492 user_id=31995] I'm looking at having ALF treatment here in the South of France. I had 4 teeth removed as a kid, headgear, fixed braces, the works for 3 years. I have bad posture, bad tongue posture and relapsed crowding. Hoping that expansion works; howe...

Re: expanding palate 8mm without surgery possible?

[quote=dianedale post_id=502436 time=1527610354 user_id=31955] i am over 40 and I used a device called the Homeo Block. It takes a bit longer but well worth it. I am at 8MM expansion and going strong. ABSOLUTELY no tipping or effects on the angle of my teeth. From what I have read there is never rea...

Re: Non-Surgical Adult Expansion is work (26y.o)

Relate to a lot of what has been said in this thread - would love to know how everyone is getting on? I'm a 37yo (from Melbourne too), I have moderate sleep apnea, a ‘long face’, gummy smile and some infrequent jaw pain/TMJ issues all connected back to an issue of my very narrow upper jaw I believe ...

Re: Has anyone cured their TMJ with orthodontics?

I've got mild TMJ issues along with moderate sleep apnea due to a very narrow upper jaw, which I'm about to treat with orthodontics. Specifically about to go through expander plate on upper jaw. I’ve found a dentist who works very closely with a chiropractor who has recommended maxillary expansion i...

Hi Maryon,

Sorry to hear you've had so much troubles, hope things get better for you. I'm about to start with the ALF appliance in the next month, but I think the braces stage for me will be a lot later on.

[quote=HLB2018 post_id=502344 time=1527228491 user_id=31884] I am so grateful to find this group! I got the ALF expander because my mouth is so narrow. & I didn't realize bad teeth was linked to poor posture! Woah. I have been grinding my teeth in my sleep forever. When yall got your narrow teet...

Re: Gaps In Front Teeth From ALF appliance-Doubts about Dentist

HI almond butter, Interested about whether you continued with ALF and your dentist and the results post treatment? Did the myofunctional device help to close the gaps? I am in a similar situation, I've had my dentist recommend the ALF and he has said he expects gaps between upper jaw teeth to arise ...

Adult non-surgical palate expansion at 37

Hi, I’m a 37yo woman from Australia, and for the first time in my life about 6 months ago I heard the words ‘vertical maxillary excess (VME)’. Those three words, uttered by a dentist who was recommending Invisalign at the time, marked the start of a period that helped me join up a few previously unc...
