Re: Periodontal disease and braces
I am not sure about mobility. Although I needed to have an extraction in December due to infection. The dentist said it wasn't possible to save it as it was mobile. From the orthodontist letter I read it that the orthodontist will wait to hear from the dentist that my gum disease is stable which he ...

Re: Periodontal disease and braces
My orthodontist wrote to my dentist with his report and he sent me a copy. In the letter it states what he would like the dentist to do, check etc. He advised he is hoping that 3-6 months to hear back from the dentist when my periodontal disease is stable. He recommended scale and debridement. I hav...

Re: Periodontal disease and braces
Hi Caz. I am in a similar situation. I have attended an ortho appointment and I have peridontal disease with some bone loss. I have started this later in life-late 40s. I have pockets of 5mm and before I can start ortho treatment I need to have pockets less than 3.5mm. I am hoping I can reduce the p...

Re: Overjet 10mm. Can invisalign fix it?
The dentist did say that I would need an implant for a missing tooth at the bottom back before any brace treatment before invisalign.

Dental inplant
Hi,
I went to the dentist to discuss having invisalign for overjet. They recommended that I need to have a molar implanted prior to brace treatment. I wasn't planning on having it implanted. Would it be necessary? It's bottom right at the back

Re: Completely lost after several jaw operations
I really hope you can get your problem sorted. Must be awful when you had no problems before being punched. Sounds like a nightmare. Perhaps the surgeon can refer you to someone who specialises in this area of orthodontistry

Hi,
I have an overjet of approx 10mm. Has anyone had braces to fix this or is it surgery? Dentist advised that my lower jaw was back

Hi,
I have had gum disease but it looks like this is in control now. I have an orthodontics first appointment next week. Can having gum disease stop you having braces?

Re: Overjet 10mm. Can invisalign fix it?
Thank you for your response. I visited the dentist yesterday and advised that invisalign could help with overbite but not the overjet. I have an appointment with an orthodontist next week

Overjet 10mm. Can invisalign fix it?
Hi, I am new to the forum. I had invisalign about 8 years ago and unfortunately didn't realise the importance of wearing a retainer. Over the years since my teeth have shifted. At the time of my invisalign 8 years ago, it wasn't mentioned about my overjet and overbite. I didn't realise I had them. H...
