I do sometimes mix soda with red wine ... found that very popular in Germany ... but it's inclined to 'hit' me even faster than normal ... but is a lovely cooling drink!
Now that's an interesting combination. What kind of soft drink (soda) do you mix?
I'm going to try it sometime!

About getting used to them? OH YA, the other day I went to put them in and it was then that I noticed I already had them in . That's how "normal" they feel. LOL i've had issues like that too. I used to try and brush my teeth with my elastics still in. I'd wonder what I was hitting ...

lol isn't it amazing how different everyone's teeth react. I've heard so many people comment on the fact that the power chains moved their teeth so quick. Mine took over 2 years for my extraction gaps to close ... and that was with power chains on the whole time! I also had double power chains for p...

Hi scottishgirl, I don't think you should let the teaching get in the way of your hopes of a beautiful smile. I coach softball (usually 10 and 11 year olds, but some teenagers also) and it's a real conversation point. Many of them have braces too and it's great to compare colours, how long we've had...

Just bought an Oral B Sonic

Hi everyone, Well after reading lots of opinions on here and checking prices in the shops I took advantage of the mothers day specials and bought an Oral B Sonic. For any Aussies out there who are looking at buying one, this is the best deal i've found. I got mine from the shaver shop. It was $100 b...

I have never used breath sprays. I did try the listerine strips that you put on your tongue and let melt when they 1st came out, but they are so hot!!! So yeah, I'm the same as JumpTheDitch with the brushing only. I think that does a good enough job keeping the breath fresh. If i'm real worried I ch...

Relax! EVERYONE says their teeth LOOK BIG after they get there braces off. You were accustomed to seeing only parts of your teeth for so long, its a shock when you just see TEETH! I hear that all the time from the "naked ones". Give it alittle time. Go get your teeth cleaned and whi...

Kirst1583 , I'm curious about the same thing! Maybe powerchains work differently with damons? Your debanding must be coming up soon Kirst, good luck! Thanks heaps!!! It sure is - Monday week. I can't believe it. 3 years seems like ages. I can't remember what it's like to brush without an...

Thanks heaps for the replies. It does seem to be an individual thing. From what I can gather, some of the Hawley's differ slightly too (like in how far back they go etc) so I guess that would always make a difference. I don't mind a slight lisp, as long as people can understand me it's all good! Tha...

Problem is they put them *under* the wire so he would have to remove the wire to replace the power chain. Maybe he can cut them out and put one on top. This statement got me really curious. I've never heard of power chains being placed under the wire. Do you have any pics? I'd be interested to see ...

For me it was mainly power chains. I did have them doubled up at one stage also... Recently I had to wear elastics on top of a power chain too (horizontal over the gaps, so separate ones for upper and lower obviously). All up it took about a yr and 1/2 to close the gaps. A very long process but defi...

Ok well it's update time! I saw the ortho today for my review appointment and things went well. I asked about the black triangle and he looked and said he could fix it, then took the wire out and fiddled with it a bit and put it back in (it looks like there's a slight bend right between those 2 teet...

Retainer - Speech Question!

Hi everyone, I was told today i'll be having a lower bonded (permanent) retainer and i'm assuming a Hawley on the top. I've read many times on here that speech is affected by Hawleys. I just wondered though if that's only if you have both upper and lower? I'm meant to go to work the night of my deba...
