Piper, did your feeling ever come back?
Hey Piston. Some of it, yeah. Not completely. I’m just over 5 months, and I’m still numb in my lower lip and about 2 patches on my left and right side. Some days I swear it’s coming bac...

Re: 3 Months post op - Took a light bump...
If it’s been 3 months since your surgery, and still have the titanium plates and screws still (assuming you haven’t had them removed) then you’re fine. In most cases, your bone has already started growing over the titanium, which itself is pretty sturdy. As long as you don’t have any sever pain from...

Re: Lots of numbness - scared
Hey there. Yeah I have the exact same issue - I’m 8 weeks post op tomorrow and I literally had an appointment with my oral surgeon today. I explained to him how I have no feeling in my lower lip or chin and the portion under my nose, above the mouth is numb. He said it’s entirely normal, and that th...

Tooth Pain / Sensitivity
I’m 7 weeks post op (double jaw surgery) and had my first braces adjustment 3 weeks ago (4 weeks post op). I’m having to wear 4 rubber bands, two on each side to aid in further correcting my bite - but has anyone experienced tooth pain or weird sensitivity issues? I can’t even use my sonicare becaus...

Re: Swelling day 7
Personally, if I were you - I wouldn’t worry too much. You’re literally only a week post-op, and had an intense surgery. Each person varies with swelling. My surgery was only 2 hours nor as intense as yours, and I’m 7 weeks post op and still have minor swelling (which I confirmed with my surgeon tha...

Re: Hello!
1.) Does anyone know what specific underbite it could be? Generally, there is not a set in stone name or specific type other than a Class III Maloclussion. Mine was a Class III with a slight cross bite. 2.) How did you conquer the hurdle of insurance? My insurance excludes this completely from cover...

Re: Numbness/Tightness
Thank you Emily. Your reply has given me a lot of piece of mind, and to hear it from someone with first hand experience. I’ll hold out hope that it’ll eventually come back. Did you do any mouth or jaw exercises?

Numbness/Tightness
Hey all, I’ve just had double jaw surgery about 6 weeks ago. I have complete numbness in the left side of my bottom lip, and my entire chin feels numb (and) right; like a stiffness. They didn’t advance my lower jaw, my oral surgeon actually moved it back a bit, and advanced my upper jaw forward. Doe...
