Yes my troubled tooth is at the front. I go in tomorrow. Though I dreaded the thought of having a retainer fixed to my teeth (as does my ortho), really it might be best  . Thanks, I really hadn't thought about that recently.

Subborn tooth!

I have had my braces off quite a few weeks and have been good about wearing my essix retainer which my ortho seems to think will last forever, contrary to what I hear on this site  . Anyway...there is one tooth that is just insistant on going back to it's crooked position. It's ever so slightl...

Joining the club

I got my braces off several days ago. I wondered if it would hurt and it didnt'. Just felt like presure and popping as the brackets came off. I was amazed at how white my teeth looked. I'd been affraid of my teeth being discolored due to the brackets covering part of them. My teeth look better than ...

I knew my ortho's assistant wasn't right. I was told some people have them for years too before needing to be replaced. One gal said 12 years  . I have a 1mm on my upper and a standard one on my lower (very thin) I don't see the lowers lasting like the upper one.

I don't know how to deal with a cracked essex retainer but my dh's hawly has broken too. In fact as a teen he'd broken a couple of them. So now he's passed 30 and I thought this wouldn't be an issue. We have just expected that retainers will need replacing regardless of the kind they are. perhaps ha...

Not positive here but was told the invisilines are about 1mm or so thick. The clear retainers are thinner than that typically. My top retainer will be about as thick as the invisiline and the bottoms will be the typical thickness (less).

My dh wears a hawley and consumes hot drinks with no problems. I'm not an ortho so I can't say whether it's bad or not for him to do but our ortho did tell him in particular to keep it in when eating etc.. and nothing about hot liquids.

I have my upper wisdom teeth that are compacted above my last molars. They need to be removed and I was concerned about movement even with a retainer. My ortho said I shouldn't experience movement. Of course that's my mouth and everyone may be different. If I were you I'd just keep fitting the retai...

I have 2 weeks and 1 day until my braces are off and thought I'd pop over here. My teeth moving are my worse fear too. To the OP, I'm sorry about the trouble you've had.

Thank you all for your replies. A friend of mine didn't want to have braces on in her wedding photos and took them off herself  ! She ended off stripping some of the enamal off :x . It's funny that I really never cared about my teeth being crooked prior to braces (I got them because I had a c...

Feel like whining...

When I got braces on (10-31-05) I was excited and optamistic. Having braces was admittedly fun as I felt younger etc... They're not fun anymore! I'm so tired of wearing them and can't wait to get them off! If my teeth show no movement I should get them off in about 10 weeks (which feels like forever...
