Re: Can traditional braces create a broad smile?
Well, if you have a narrow arch to begin with so there is a limit how much teeth can be moved out of the bone to make it wider. There were posts on this forum about broadening arches, people say Damon system overal has wider archwires than regular braces. But then, if you have overjet and you want t...

Re: When getting consults...
Totally agree with advise given. If orthodontist is not willing or comfortable answering your questions, then he/she might not be willing to reveal full information about consequences of treatment. I understand you an adult, if you want to reduce overjet by extracting teeth it will be also reasonabl...

Re: 5 days in, 5 lbs. lost
Also, just forgot to mention- you can do baba ghanoush and hummus in blender, with more liquid parts it will be thinner and easy to swallow. Strain Greek yogurt for about 24 hours through the cheesecloth (It is called labneh), than blend it with smoked salmon, it is a very tasty spread but could be ...

If you have Vitamix, you can blend anything you like, do cream of chicken or broccoli soup. In health food sections in grocery stores you can try to find almond butter, cashew butter, pumpkin seeds butter same consistency as peanut butter, there is protein and a lot of calories, you can also drink m...

Re: Periodontal disease and braces
Hi Caz, you didn't say where you live. In Canada most orthodontist would not start any treatment until patient goes to periodontist who does an assessment and tell if it is reasonable to start orthodontic treatment, they gum assess pockets depth and recession, Ortho treatment can cause more recessio...

Re: Implant or ortho for missing tooth
It is very difficult to give any advise since we are not professionals here and don't even know about all details of your case, but I would be extremely cautious about removing more teeth for orthodontic treatment. If something goes not the way it was planned, you can't put teeth back. If if is ok f...

Bicuspid extractions reversal , Ontario
Hi everybody,
There are a lot of posts regarding bicuspid extractions reversal on this forum but most users seem to be from the US.
If there is anybody from the GTA area who is in a such process who can share orthodontist name whether on forum or through the private message I highly appreciate it.

Braces combined with removable appliances
I am wondering if anybody had an experience of having braces together with removable appliances at the same time, like Schwartz expander or 3 way expander, for me it seems they may interfere with one another, like 3 way expander pushing teeth forward and braces "restrict" them ?

Re: FAGGA appliance
You can try to go LVI website and look for fellow doctors in your area, than look what kind of courses they have done.
If they did controlled arch courses, most likely they are familiar with FAGGA.
As I mentioned before try https://www.lviglobal.com/listings/

Re: FAGGA appliance
Thank you so much for your detailed response. Just wondering why they open space behind bicuspid not in front, seems like it easier to move only 6 front teeth forward? I still have some space open behind canines , first cuspids were removed, so I don't want to pull second cuspids forward, still thin...

Re: FAGGA appliance
Just figured out it is basically the same appliance as CD advancer, and found few positive comments from a poster from Australia few years ago.But seems to be very bulky , not sure how I will be able to cope with it, I am already suffering from constricted arch after bicuspid extractions.

Re: FAGGA appliance
I am in Toronto, haven't started anything yet, so can't tell anything in terms of comfort. I don't have any other options.
Two dentists that I saw and who do orthodontic work offered that. I couldn't find any information about local orthodontists
who are willing to reverse bicuspid extractions.

Re: TAD v loose, ortho shut till 2nd!
Can you remove elastics that connects TAD to the archwire? That probably maximum you can do yourself, at least may be it will decrease pain.Because now looks like TAD is being pulled out by elastics because it is very loose. I had that experience before, was given antihioyics for a week, tad was sti...
