Canine Won't Budge :(

I haven't posted in quite a long time since I have had nothing to report. Unfortunately after a consult with my Ortho this morning it has been decided that my canine is probably fused to the bone. They have been pulling on it from several angles for 9 months now and it hasn't moved. They have been u...

Canine Exposure UPDATE

Hi Everyone! I had my first appointment after having my canine "hooked up". Ortho said it looks good and it looks like the tooth is engaged and is already trying to come through the gum. The ortho said they would be getting a laser in the near future that they could use on the gum to help ...

Thanks everyone for your replies and encouragement. I am starting to eat real food again. My tongue finally stopped hurting today. Still getting used to eating with the wire in the way but everything is going well. I will post any updates when I have them. Thanks!

Canine Exposure Done and Traction Arm Appliance Active PICS!

Hi! I had my braces first to make room for my canine. My teeth were all moved around and there was no space for the canine to go. I will have my exposure surgery on May 25. The first pic is pre-braces. The second pic is as of January. I have newer pics but they are still on my camera. The spring on ...

Finally got a date for Canine Exposure Surgery!!!

:D I am so excited!! My Surgery is scheduled for May 25. I have to go into my ortho 1 week before to have spacers put in my back molars to make room for the traction bar appliance to be banded. I will go in the day prior to surgery to be fitted for my appliance. One week after the surgery I go in an...

I purchased the Rota-Dent from my ortho and LOVE IT! Mine came with a few different brush styles that work great for getting under and around the brackets. You get that "just from the dentist" feeling when you use it. I was also told by my hygenist that the rotary action has been proven to...

Hi 2thJewelry, At my last adjustment we were discussing the 2nd exposure surgery that some people have to have and that it usually makes a big difference. The assistance thought that the surgeon was a little more aggressive since it was the 2nd exposure. Good luck with it. I sure hope it helps. I wo...

My ortho had braces taken off a couple years ago and is thinking of having them put back on to correct something else. I asked him if I could do HIS adjustments!! It is refreshing to know that they understand what we are going through.

Hi Shawnie! First I wanted to say thank you for sharing your experience. My ortho is currently making space to bring in my impacted canine. We are almost there and hope to be going to the oral surgeon in the next month or two. It is nice to hear about other people's experiences. At least the surgery...
