Re: clear or metal?
Aaaand I just changed my mind. Ceramic for the top it is. I’ve been going back and forth but I think I’ll be happy with this decision. They use a self-ligating system so there won’t be any bands to worry about staining.

Re: Cost of your braces
$5300 metal self-lighting braces. Insurance will cover $1500, putting down $500 then 18 months of $184 interest free.

Re: clear or metal?
I’m doing metal just to avoid any of the typical issues with ceramic (breaking, staining). The staff said treatment time is sliiightly less, so that’s a plus. Honestly, I’m going to look.... not my best... for the next 12-18 months regardless of which braces, might as well get it done with as fast a...

Re: Shoe of hamdsbif you’ve had a POSITIVE experience post extractions
Thank you! Makes me feel a bit better. Sorry about your accident, hope your heal quickly. My husband got in a dirt bite accident as a teen and his teeth are still... let’s just say “expensive”. Thank god for dual dental insurance.

Show of hands if you’ve had a POSITIVE experience post extractions
I had 4 extractions when I was 16... about 17 years ago. That’s never filled due to multiple reasons. I’m back at it, braces go on in a couple weeks, trying to close gaps, correct a deep bite, and widen my very narrow arches. I’m (still) so upset about the fact I had the extractions and am dishearte...

Re: Whats your story?
I had lingual top/traditional metal braces when I was 16/17. Had 4 extractions due to severe overcrowding. I was annoyed that I needed braces, was non compliant, and my results were subpar. Now, at 33, I’m getting metal braces to correct a deep bite, close gaps from extractions, and realign my molar...

Re: Who has had four premolars extracted AND all four wisdom
Me. I had 4 extractions when I was 16, then had lingual braces. I was non-compliant because I did NOT want braces. My gaps never fully closed. Fast forward 17 years, just got all 4 wisdom teeth removed earlier this year. Braces go on in a couple weeks. I think it’s weird that I’m “missing” 8 teeth, ...

Re: Your jail sentence
I was told 12-18 during my consult. Teeth are relatively straight from lingual braces years ago, but I have an 80% Deep bite, gaps from extractions that never fully closed, and my molars are a bit wonky.
