Re: Carriere Distalizer and ceramic braces at 28
It's been forever since I've given an update, but I'm finally getting my braces off at the beginning of March! The last year has been mostly uneventful, just the usual elastics to help with my bite. The most interesting thing that I've gotten is a "zing string" to help bring my top front t...

That's great to hear that the repositioning wasn't bad! Fingers crossed!

Re: Carriere Distalizer and ceramic braces at 28
I just posted a couple of weeks ago about having to wear elastics at night again, and the teeth that rebounded are already making really good progress at going back to where they should be! I'm always surprised by how fast teeth will move. I'm still kind of dreading the repositioning I'm getting nex...

Hey! Congrats on getting braced! I'm sorry your left side is giving you issues. :( I highly recommend the lavender bands for the ceramic braces on top! I started off using the clear bands as well and they stained SO easily (I drink a lot of coffee and tea), but the lavender bands almost don't stain ...

Re: Carriere Distalizer and ceramic braces at 28
It's been a while since I updated, mostly because nothing too exciting has been happening with my teeth. However, last time I went to the ortho (last month) she noticed that my top left side was started to rebound a bit from the progress it made with the Carriere and the teeth are starting to crowd ...

Re: My Carriere, retainer, ceramic braces journey at 31 y/o
Are you using the hook tool to put on/take off your elastics? I was always able to finagle my elastics with that better rather than just doing it by hand.
I'm sorry it's a little slow going! Hang in there, it's gonna be totally worth it.

Re: My Carriere, retainer, ceramic braces journey at 31 y/o
Oh my gosh I'm so happy my posts were helpful! I really like my braces. I don't think I would have fared well with Invisalign. I can't be held responsible for my own treatment! Lol The first couple of weeks with braces were fairly painful, but since then it's been smooth sailing. Even after adjustme...

Re: My Carriere, retainer, ceramic braces journey at 31 y/o
I had the Carriere appliance too! I wore it for six months though so you're super lucky (I had a ton of crowding on top). I wrote about my experience here if you want to read it: https://www.archwired.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=52790 I haven't checked the forum in a while because my braces a...

Re: My Journey thus far...
I just got my braces on about a week and a half ago and I know what you mean about it hurting to floss! I couldn't believe the pain that could go along with putting a tint string between your teeth. The pain goes away really fast, though. I'm eating normally again already, and flossing doesn't hurt ...

Re: Carriere Distalizer and ceramic braces at 28
Got my braces today! So far so good. I don't feel like the ceramic brackets are too bulky and I don't have any issues with closing my lips. There was a bit of tightness when they first put the wires in, but for the first couple of hours I didn't have any issues. I'm starting to have soreness now, th...

Re: Carriere Distalizer and ceramic braces at 28
Just had another check up yesterday and I'm due for braces on March 14th! Ahhhhhh! My ortho wants my teeth to overcorrect before braces go on and if they're not overcorrected enough, she said that she will put braces on my four front teeth and on the bottom but leave the distalizer on for the time b...

Re: What to expect on the day you get braces
These are some great tips! I'm getting my braces on soon and I've started getting nervous, but this is really helpful. It seems like it's all just a matter of getting used to the changes.

Re: Carriere Distalizer and ceramic braces at 28
Woooooo that's awesome! Congrats on getting it off soon! I broke off one of the lower buttons in my first week, so I know how you feel. Lol my ortho hasn't taken measurements, I might have to ask her the next time I'm there.

Re: Carriere Distalizer and ceramic braces at 28
I also wanted to add what I experienced with the appliance: - I had a good bit of pain in the beginning that made it hard to eat, but it only lasted for about two weeks or so and then I was back to normal, so try to stick it out! - Sometimes the sensitivity would come back randomly, but that's when ...

Re: Carriere Distalizer and ceramic braces at 28
Yes! I'm still in the appliance, however I go on the 14th to be told whether I can finally take it off and get braces put on or not. I've had it on since the end of September/early October so it should be coming off earlier than I expected (5ish months), which was 6 months. I was hoping for 3 months...
