Re: What were your teeth like before getting braces off?
I'm about to get my braces off and I still have a premolar that is not exactly in contact with the lower one although not quite considered an open bite per say. My ortho has also said that there is a period where they call it the "settling" period where the teeth will still be moving a li...

Re: What were your teeth like before getting braces off?
i am far from finished, but i've seen youtube videos where people say that their ortho sort of constructed the retainer to where he want the teeth to be, and have the retainer act like a invisalign.... I think right now, u have no choice since your braces are off already. Wear the retainer for like...

I never flossed, started using a water pik 1.5 years into my treatment. Teeth are fine and ortho complemented my hygiene.

What were your teeth like before getting braces off?
I got my braces off last week (woohoo) but at the same time, it wasn't as great as I expected it to be. None of my back molars touch/touched when I bite but my ortho said it should settle with the retainers. Could someone explain this to me. I don't get how teeth move to meet when they're apart. How...

Re: Can a retainer fix a posterior open bite?
Hey Chrisby, I was wondering if your open bite closed. I just had my braces removed a few days ago and non of my back molars touch when I bite. Ortho said the same thing, it should settle over time but this doesn't make sense to me at all. I had elastics and they helped a lot, I had most of my molar...

Re: Posterior open bite not closing
oh that really sucks, I'm moving countries in a couple of months and I thought I'd be out by then, even the ortho said it should be fine. Thanks for your reply

Posterior open bite not closing
I have a fairly large posterior open bite that we've been trying to close for a few months now. I say it closed about 70% within the first month and now it's been 2 months since then and I feel that it's barely changed. I'm also using stronger elastics and reduce the number of teeth it is hooked on ...

Re: Where was your bite after surgery
I had my surgery on August 9th, so hopefully this is part of the healing process but my bite still seems very off after double jaw surgery. My molars are still quite a ways off from being able to touch and my lower teeth barely fit in under my top teeth. My canine teeth seems to meet tooth to tooth...

How long do you see surgeons for after surgery?

Re: Jaw popping after surgery
Hi There- I think you should be fine. The tongue depressor sticks I bought after my puppy chewed on the first set was from Michael's. I got the jumbo size as it's more circumference to teeth surface. Here's the link; they were only a couple of bucks with one of their coupons.http://www.michaels.com...

Re: June/ july 2018 surgery buddies
Had surgery end of June. I was VERY swollen, way more swollen than ANYONE I saw online but surgery was painless. After a week and a bit I had a really heavy blood nose for 4.5 hours before I went ED where I ended in hospital for another 3 nights. I came home and and nearly a week after my ortho said...

Re: Jaw popping after surgery
Glad I'm not the only one, thanks for your reply. It definitely is like elastics snapping, that's a perfect way to describe it. It hasn't been recent and was there since I could open my mouth more than a finger. Right now, I can open my mouth nearly 3 fingers wide but they didn't give me any jaw exe...

Re: How bad did your bite get before you were ready for surgery?
yeah I had a full blown underbite before the surgery as well for probably a year or longer, it was really bad to the point where I wanted the surgery ASAP compared to just wanting the ortho treatment when I started
