Thanks, Jethro! I get where you're coming from.
If everything else is fine, there is honestly no point in correcting a midline that is only off by 1 mm (or even less).

Re: Bottom midline deviated...ortho says we can leave it, but...
Thanks for your reply, assertives! Yeah, I feel like since the top midline is aligned, fixing the bottom would throw the top one off. Then, I would have to be in braces longer than necessary.

Bottom midline deviated...ortho says we can leave it, but...
I'm getting my braces off pretty soon (my ortho says we're 95% there). I was concerned about my midline being deviated. I told my ortho. He said that my midline on my top teeth is aligned, but the midline on my bottom teeth is deviated a bit to the right (I think he said about 1 mm or less). He aske...

Re: Excited and terrified
I'm 27 and I got braces two years ago and thought everyone would be asking me why I have braces as an adult. So far, no one has asked me why I have braces as an adult. Most people have not said anything about my braces at all. When I first got braces, I did, however, have some who would stare at my ...

Re: Newbie questions!
I only know the answer to your 4th question, so here goes... I think it is normal to not have the wire changed. They may keep the same wire because they want your teeth to move a little more before they change it.

Re: No pictures were taken?
Sooo the main question is do I have to be worried that I did not have pictures taken 😅 seems like you guys all have your pictures taken... I don't think you need to be worried. It's good that you got x-rays and molds done, as those are the priority. Not having pictures done only means you won't get...

Re: No pictures were taken?
I had pictures and X-rays done during my initial consultation, which was months before I actually got braces. I never had any molds done prior to getting my braces on. Pictures are good to have so you can see the before and after!

Re: Damon braces first few days
Talking may be hard for the first few days, just your mouth getting used to something new in there. That said, it may be helpful if you took the next day off.

Re: First wire change
Silver is probably your best bet. Black and dark purple should be good too, but they may make your teeth look like they're rotting.

Re: ELASTIC KEEPS SNAPPING OFF (lingual buttons) grrr
Update: I called my ortho about two weeks ago and he said that I could leave the elastic off the canine hook, and then they'll re-assess it during my next appointment. I at least put it on the canine hook when I'm sleeping though.

ELASTIC KEEPS SNAPPING OFF (lingual buttons) grrr
I have elastics for lingual buttons on one side of my mouth to fix posterior crossbite. I’ve had elastics in this particular configuration since January. The elastic goes from the hooks on the back of the top four molars, all the way to bottom four molars, so the elastic has to stretch quite a bit. ...

I have silver powerchains too, and I find that they stain more than silver ligatures, but the staining does go away after a day or two!

Re: Concerns about orthodontist and staff
You are paying big bucks for a service so indeed they should answer all concerns and questions. Yes, I would politely say that you have some concerns. Sorry to hear this. My ortho and staff are the best. I also email my ortho when I have concerns, so this may be an option for you as well. Thanks fo...
