Re: braces and face changes

I had quite a round face before and it is making my face look thinner.. so I'm happy with the changes.

Re: IMPACTED CANINES CLUB

Hey all took a break from the forum while I was down on braces progress. The evil impacted canine is no more- I have had it extracted and it will never see the light of day again! The oral surgeon performing the procedure advised that expose/extract should have never been attempted and that it was ...

Re: IMPACTED CANINES CLUB

@UltraViolet Oh that is good that it only took 7 months. I had surgery June 9. Nothing coming through the gums :( I will go for my first follow up scan in December and hopefully we will see there has been enough movement. If not, I'm going to go right to the extraction, bone grafting, and then impla...

Re: CLIF bars

Does anyone know if they can eat Clif bars with braces? I just can't remember how sticky/hard they are... can you crush them with your tongue against the roof of your mouth? (I've been doing that with some foods) I know the ones with nuts are out, but I'm pretty sure I could have the coconut chocol...

Re: Best thing for sore, cracked lips (due to braces)?

Carmex all the way. I've used it for years before braces, and say that the one in the tube is better than the pots or the stick.

Re: Night guard for clenching?

Which one did you buy? Thanks! Its one that is disposable, and comes with 10 in the box. Grind No more Hmmm, the only ones I found that had the name "Grind No More" also said in the fine print not to use if you wear braces. Brand name Plackers? Yes, that is the one that I use. It doesn't ...

Re: Night guard for clenching?

I clench and grid at night and found it super annoying not having a mouth guard at night. I bought a giant mouth guard for braces on Amazon and it sucked. So then I tried the disposable mouth guard that has just the plastic parts for the molar's.. and it works great! Which one did you buy? Thanks! ...

Re: IMPACTED CANINES CLUB

Apparently the back of my jaw bone? Sounds super gross to me but what about impacted canines isn't disgusting!! There is actually a small chance when he gets in there to remove the impacted tooth that he won't have to do any grafting, but I won't know for sure until I wake up from it being done! Ha...

Re: IMPACTED CANINES CLUB

Shelleyt wrote:My own. Oral surgeon only offered that. And yes more surgery but he said it's all in the same procedure as having the impacted tooth removed. According to him it causes a bit more swelling/Pain than the exposure surgery, but nothing terrible
Where are they getting the bone from???

Re: IMPACTED CANINES CLUB

What kind of bone grafting are you doing? Your own bone, synthetic, or cow? If I have to get implants (only 3 1/2 months in of trying with the chains), then that's another decision that I'm not certain of. I know your own bone is best, but that means MORE surgery.

Re: IMPACTED CANINES CLUB

Worst day! Turns out the tooth has not moved one mm this whole seven months. They have been pulling up on a chain not attached to anything since at least may! Tooth is practically where we started at a year ago. I'm a little pissed at my ortho for somehow not realizing that over the course of 7 mon...

Re: IMPACTED CANINES CLUB

It's been five months since my procedure and I still don't have any tooth showing. Links have been coming off slowly at my visits. Getting an X-ray update Monday. I go in every 2 weeks to have the elastic replaced, but I wish I could go even more than that. I've noticed they always depress the wire...

My ortho keeps telling me to be patient but honestly I am SO FED UP :-+ I would really love to go your route Whimsical because I am tired of the gap and it is so annoying, but mine is also so huge I wonder if closing it is even an option or l would need an implant. We have decided to wait another s...
