Re: Anyone else having problems sleeping since braces?
At first, when i got elastics, the doctor gave me 6mm (1/4") heavy elastics. I had the worst pain. The worst. For me the pain when i got my braces put on was nothing compared to this. It took me three days to adjust to them. However, he has now given me 3 mm (1/8") super heavy elastics and...

Re: New to rubber bands- question
Yea, it happened to me too, for some reason it felt way tighter on my left side. And not only that, but you could clearly see that that rubber band had gotten bigger/looser compared to the one on the other side. However now the feel and look the same (6 weeks later).

Re: How bad do my teeth look?
Yea, there's some overbite, not the biggest, not the worst, but i can see it... Well from an aesthetic point if view, you're still good, i would probably not notice it even if i were to meet you (and trust me, ever since i got braces all i do is notice stuff about everone's teeth and gums  ). B...

Elastics results
I know there have probably been hundreds of topics like this, but if i try to search 'elastics', it says that there are too many results and that i should try searching something else, and if i search 'elastics results' or 'elastics time results' it says 'ignored: elastics' or 'ignored: elastics tim...

Re: Bite Stoppers
Trust me, they are a blessing in diguise. I was kinda panicked at first, but i got used to them and they also got flatter pretty fast. I actually wish they were a tad bigger (wish my ortho had rebuilt them) because i keep touching a bracket when i bite and the tooth is starting to hurt preeeety damn...

Re: Soda vs. sugary drinks
Soda is the worst cause it contains both sugar, which some bacteria turn to acid, and acid. So it's all nice extra acidic, thus corrosive. Even diet soda still has a lot of acid so it's still pretty bad. Other sugary drinks that are bad are fresh citrus juices and even some teas, such as black tea. ...

Re: Bottom braces and overbite
Let us know how it goes. I can't imagine! I don't have an overbite (thought I did but turns out it's an overjet instead, still learning the proper orthodontic terms...), so I don't think I'll have to have the build-ups. I'll be interested to hear how/what you manage to eat. Sounds like soft foods o...

Bottom braces and overbite
So i am getting my bottom braces this friday after having had the top ones for 3.5 months. I have a bad overbite, and i mean bad, top teeth fully covering the bottom ones bad. Now i am thinking well they're gonna put bite blocks. Maybe not now cause the overjet is gonna protect them for a while, or ...

Re: Question about cleaning
Personally I don't brush after every meal, but i do check for any food stuck in my teeth (and clean it with a tiny brush if needed). I usually brush them twice, like I normally would, except i wash them with infinitely more patience and also floss once a day. So as long as you don't have any food st...

Re: Getting braces, duration of the treatment 30 months?!
Yup, got a second opinion and it's all good now, i'm 2 months into the treatment and it's going just great, no extractions. I was told that if i need extractions, he'd rather go with removing my top wisdom teeth and then using a distalizer to push the rest of the teeth back rather than extracting pr...

TMJ can mean a lot of things wrong with your jaw joint, from pain to weird pops, jaw lock, on one side or on both sidesJeska0113 wrote: Omgso is tmj the same as having lock jaw ?

Re: Whats your story?
I have a bad overbite and crooked teeth. Because my teeth are so crowded on the upper arch, I got two cavities between them, even though I brushed them regularly. I started flossing too, but it was too late. Also I have TMJ (my jaw pops whenever i open my mouth) and I am sorta hoping that as soon a...

Re: 3 Consultations and Still Confused... (class ii division 2)
I'm from Romania. The first ortho just wanted to pull two premolars, no appliances. The second one (the one that's treating me) said he'd much rather try elastics and if they don't work, i can pull my top wisdom teeth and he'll try distalization and basically move the rest of my molars, correcting c...

Re: 3 Consultations and Still Confused... (class ii division 2)
I don't know if it helps you, but my case is similar I think. I have a class 2 division II. If i open my jaw from the bite position, my jaw clicks. If I open wide, it slides slightly towards the right side though, like the bone is longer on one side (which is not excluded since my face is pretty asy...
