I wouldn't compare braces to something like foot-binding because it's voluntary.

Congtratulations! It's never to late to fix your smile. The change is slow at first but in a few months your smile will look much better.

After the first 2 weeks of the flexible wire I noticed that my teeth were a little straighter. Then after about a month of power-chains I noticed that the gaps closing. So, for me at least, change comes in 2-4 week intervals.

Metal braces are probably your best bet. Just put them in and forget about them. There's no forgetting to put them back in after meals or dropping them in a really gross place while they're out for what ever reason.

If you don't mind me asking, hat made you go with invisilalign over metal braces?
