If you have any kind of removable retainer, you should take it out to eat. Im guessing those are your teeth in that pic you have, and you have a hawley? I have a hawley as well, and I was told to take it out when I eat.

Thats why you should always put them in some sort of case. My ortho gave me two different ones. NEVER put your retainer out on the table or on a tray. You should always keep it in the case if its not in your mouth.

So I have my braces off and everything, with a bonded retainer on the bottom. Do you have EACH of the 6 bottom teeth bonded to the retainer? Mine is only bonded to the two teeth on the end, and one of my front middle teeth has shifted forward a tiny bit..

In my opinion, I would definitely go with the ceramics. I had six ceramics on my top teeth (the back ones were metal) and half the time people didnt even notice that I had braces at all. I got my braces off this past Thursday. The brackets coming off doesnt hurt AT ALL. I heard the ceramics were worse but when he took my ceramics off, I didnt feel a thing. Dont worry, it wont hurt.

I didnt have to. My gums are a little sensitive though, like when I go to brush my teeth. I have to do it VERY slowly and carefully right now. It'll get better though. My teeth have been a little sore but nothing too bad.

It was fine, they barely even had to do anything. They just cleaned them with that little brush thing and I was done. Barely took any time at all, because my ortho had pretty much cleaned them up.

Why would you do that?? They obviously dont care that you have braces, and you shouldnt either! You shouldnt change your life because of braces, I say go for it!! If someone is too shallow that they wont date you because you have braces, then you are better off without them anyway!
