Re: July-September surgery buddys

Surgical Hooks are on and are NOT as noticeable/painful as I imagined, the appointment took longer then I expected, I was in the chair for about an hour and a half, but nothing too painful. The aftermath felt similar to when you first get your braces on. Yesterday I had my pre-op appointment (surger...

Going into my ortho today to get surgical hooks, double jaw surgery is scheduled for August 30th at 8:30 am! Hope these hooks aren't super annoying and/or painful, some people seem really bothered and some not at all. I have ceramic braces and an overbite so if they are noticeable, they will be to e...

Re: July-September surgery buddys

Hello All, after having my first surgery ever on Sept 14th 2016 (SARPE), I'm set to have my double jaw surgery on Aug 30th 2017! As everyone says, I'm a big ball of excited/nervous/curious/scared. One day I think I'll be able to handle it all, I'm a year post-SARPE surgery and can't quite imagine a ...

Yes, it gets better...I mean you wont get back to normal saliva status but better. Always keep water near where you go!! But I'm telling you, it's all up hill from here. You've got the process started, you should be VERY proud of yourself!

[quote="Collie"][quote="LovelyLeah"]"That's so great to hear! My SARPE is 3 weeks away. How much time did you take off work? Do you feel it was enough/too much? And has talking with the expander gotten any easier? Honestly that's what's got me the most nervous, as I work in ...

Re: January - March 2017 Surgery Buddies

SARPE was really soooo much easier then I imagined, the worst part is the anxiety. Constantly scouring this board was a blessing to keep me informed but also made me so nervous. I had such an easy recovery and the results were AMAZING! Even though it's small changes everyday, one day you'll see an o...
