Rhonda, I think I have been told all of the same things you mentioned plus some. How about "you might experience some tenderness ". That was one of my favorites. You photo looks nice and although you are right you can definately see your braces you wear them well and your teeth are looking...

colored ligs with damon brackets

Your photo is really cute- I bet she doesn't look forward to the teasing you will give her when your teeth are naked.

I don't see why you can't get colored ligs with damon brackets. I don't have them but I would think they would have ligs like regular brackets.

Sounds like you and your daughter-in-law are having a little family fun with your braces. You both wear them well and remember beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

No braces for Christmas would have been a nice gift but an extra month or two is no big deal in the grand scheme of things. I'm sure your daughter-in-law will be jealous when your smile is au natural.

Enjoy the holidays.

elastics

Welcome aboard.

I liked reading your story and the photos are very nice. I think your teeth look like the braces could be off in no time.

The elastics looked like they were stretched pretty tight and the pressure you feel is understandable.

I look forward to following your progress.

You were blessed with a pretty smile, your lips frame your teeth like a painting. I think when your ortho journey is completed your smile will be a work of art. I'm sure it will be worth the wait and minor inconveniences.

Don't despair. As a 50 something braces wearer I know what you are going through but creating beauty is not something that the calendar is concerned with. Keep your chin up and just think about what a good thing you are doing for yourself!

One day down, how are doing? Feel like a high school sophmore showing off your new mouth jewelry? I hope everything is going well and don't worry the calendar is already counting down the days until you are a braces alum.

Congrats on your decision! It is not easy to take the plunge as an adult but you will be amazed how quickly time flies and before you know it the braces will be history. Think of them as planting a flower that takes time to grow but you know eventually the beauty of the flower will make you forget t...

no archwire

When I read your entry about having the archwire taken out and it felt funny it brought back vivid memories of my orthodontic experience. Without the archwire the brackets felt very foreign and out of place but with the archwire in place I liked the feeling that everything was connected and tight. (...

Sounds very high tech-kind of like invisalign with brackets. I would imagine the cost for this technique is greater than normal braces.

Did you consider Invisalign?

Looking forward to watching your progress.

Be well.
