Re: Double jaw surgery and speech?

No, but it's only because it wasn't discussed at all...or was but it's far from the main problems I wanted to solve with jaw surgery. Don't remember much about that sorry. My main problems were I had so much overjet that resulted in a bad lip trap, lip incompetence which result in me often biting my...

Re: Double jaw surgery and speech?

I was struggling with pronouncing s before my surgery but generally speaking I never had a problem making myself understood - it was not the main reason why I had jaw surgery, but it's vastly better now that i had my jaw surgery.

Re: What retainers did you have? Do you like them?

I think it was because there was...

Re: Do teeth move faster after jaw surgery?

I was scared of that too! And there was one point where some of my teeth were so painful that my doc prescribed me painkillers AND antibiotics (as opposed to just OTC paracetamol) because they thought my roots were infected. Naw it was just fast-moving teeth.

Re: Do teeth move faster after jaw surgery?

Thanks for the reply! Yes I'm surprised at how short my "sentence" is, too! Also, I'm jealous of how little swelling you seem to have! I was so swollen even after 3 months! I didn't really have my teeth moved before the surgery - just brackets and only had surgical hooks installed right be...

Do teeth move faster after jaw surgery?

Hello all! I had a double jaw surgery last year and I'm currently in my last week of braces, and today I was working at an event and got talking to another guy who's also working there who also has braces. He asked me how long I've had my braces for and I said almost a year, but I'm having them take...

Hi from an almost-30 y/o metal mouth

Hello! I had jaw surgery in May and I'm still in braces. I signed up today because I was at work and was almost in tears because of my braces. Not the first time and definitely not going to be the last. I see a lot of adults in real life who has braces but I don't know them personally, and even my 2...
