Re: People keep noticing!

Hmmm. I was considering lingual braces so they could be hidden. I'm on the short side, so I guess they would be noticeable (on my bottoms) on me. :?

Lingual Braces- How "incognito" are they???

I've had braces before, but my lower teeth have shifted. I occassionally think about getting that corrected, especially since one tooth is beginning to be awkwardly angled. But I'm reluctant to go through the whole social thing with visible braces. Today, at work, I discovered that a co-worker had l...

My Blog About My Ortho Experience & Braces Generally (Come share)

I put together my blog, not only to share my own experience as an adult with braces, but also to share my memories of friends I knew with braces growing up, and recollections of how braces have changed throughout the years. This is a family oriented blog, which I hope will be of interest to those wh...

Re: Rockin' the Braces Again at 32

Best wishes on your treatment. I had braces a few years ago at age 33, and had them for 2 years. I never had braces before that. From the name of your post having the word "again" I'm guessing this is your second time with ortho treatment. Did you have braces before as a kid or teen? How d...

Re: Metal vs Clear: Who wins?

I got clear braces on my top teeth and metal on my bottom. The reason being that I was seeking a more "discreet" (not invisible, just more discreet) look, and thats what my ortho recommended. I was pretty happy with that choice. When I wanted to be discreet, I got clear ligatures. In cases...

Re: Adult Newbie Here

Welcome to the world of ortho. I had braces some years ago in my 30s, and had clear on top, metal on bottom. One positive about the clear is that, although they are still visible, they are more discreet when you want them to be. And when you dont want them to be discreet, you can deck them out in co...

Re: Confess your orthodontic sins.

When I had braces, I didn't give up hardly anything. Not coffee, not gum, not popcorn. I made up for it in part by heavy brushing, which seemed to do the trick.

Re: Professionals with braces: thoughts or concerns?

Some years ago, at age 33, I got braces and had them for 2 years. I am an attorney, and although I felt just a slight tinge of embarrasment at first, my braces eventually became a non-issue. People comment at first, because they are not used to seeing you with braces, but after less than a week, the...

Re: Poll: At What Age Did You Get Your Braces?

I got braces for the very first time at age 33. I was surprised at that age to be told I had a serious problem that needed correction, after no such mention for years before. It was an interesting experience, and a decision I dont regret.

My Braces at 33

A few years ago, I embarked on an orthodocntic journey as an adult with braces. I started my treatment following a yearly checkup with my dentist, when I was told I had some serious crowding that if untreated could result in losing some teeth. I was suprised, but set up my appointment with an orthod...
