Re: What do you for pain?
I would take Tylenol or ibuprofen before adjustments. I found early on that my waterpik helps massage the gums and increase blood flow. Because of that it had significantly decreased the pain. I recently just skipped a wire size on uppers and lowers plus got stronger power chains on top and bottom. ...

Congrats! What a dramatic difference. Your archwires are practically straight. Your journey has renewed my strength. So happy you are close to reaching the finish line.

Re: Braces journey :)
Forgive me if this comes across rude or too forward, but is there a particular reason your gums look inflamed? The after picture it seems as though your gums are irritated. Of course I'm no professional ortho so this is merely an observation. I hope I didn't offend you and your teeth actually look d...

Re: Getting braces in 3 days!
I would suggest wax, although your ortho may provide with some, and proxy brushes.

Re: No pain after 1 week in Damon braces... Is this normal?
I have a colleague who had braces 4 years and she experienced no pain whatsoever. She now has a gorgeous smile and seeing her teeth is what actually pushed me to go and get braced. So don't think that nothing is happening. Also I see that you have some space between your teeth before getting braced....

Re: 24 and new to braces! ....And advice.
It took 3 weeks for my mouth to actually feel like my 'new' mouth again. 2 weeks was dealing with the teeth pain. I had canker sores since day 2 of braces and dealt with them for 3+ weeks. Granted it was because I knew I couldn't wear wax for the next 15 months every single day. So I would remove wa...

Re: Teeth still hurt
I was braced 10/18/16 and 3 weeks in most of my pain had decreased significantly. I would still have random intervals of group tooth soreness at a time. Like my molars on the left would hurt 2 days. Then front teeth for 2 days. Etc. it was extremely weird. I have a gap, well had a gap, btwn my two f...

Looking good. Congrats on the progress . And no need to explain life. We all get busy with the real world. And it's great that you're supporting breast cancer. By the time you're done your smile will be perfect.

Re: Going out for meals?
Personally I couldn't imagine eating out in public. But then again I just got my braces less than a week ago. Food gets caught so badly between the wires and by the time I eat two bites I feel like a squirrel storing nuts in my cheeks. And of course I end up having to remove the chewed food from tho...

Well I'm new here myself but welcome back Farm Boy!! I must say that I'm interested in a tongue crib. Never heard of such a thing but I'm not well versed in dental/orthodontic terminology whatsoever. So off to google I go, lol.

Re: My 1st tightening
I have Damon braces and with every consult they said I will go in every 10-12 weeks. After reading this thread I'm a bit concerned now. Is that too long? BTW I'm sure your power chains are coming soon enough. I got mine day 1 and I most certainly see and feel a difference. I'm now most excited for e...

Re: Mouth Soreness
You are my ortho treatment twin!! I was fitted on 10.18.16 and I have seriously had thoughts of having them removed. The pain from the braces and then the mouth sores from brackets breaking skin has me a bit gloomy. Actually a lot gloomy. Eating is something I now dread and I can lose several pounds...

Re: Anyone else with a huge front gap, overbite and overjet
I have a gap in my two front teeth, big enough to slide a toothpick in, as well as an overbite estimated at 40%. Braces went on this past Tuesday (10.18.16). I have the Damon clear on top (with power chain under the arch wire of front teeth) and metal on bottom. Estimated treatment length: 15 months...
