I also had wire ties put on every tooth. Some brackets were even broken during surgery, but my teeth didn't move at all.

I'm still not perfectly clear after 2 months. My jaw is still stiff when I make certain sounds, especially ones where my chin goes forward. It really takes our muscles a long time to acclimate to their new positions. Keep practicing!

I think you should wait until after surgery and healing to get a haircut because your face shape will be a bit different. (If you care about that kind of thing.)
