Re: doesn't 1 year of braces seem like forever?

I've had mine on for almost six months (well... upper arch that is. Lowers have only been on for a week mweheh), and I think I have another year to go - less if I'm lucky. The first six months went relatively quickly... but the year remaining? That feels like a lifetime away xD.

Re: Would you be concerned in this case?

Thanks for the responses :) Because I'm still fairly new to this process I wasn't certain whether this was standard practice (two week waits for something that could cause decay and would take two seconds to fix). Hence the question for clarification! I might discuss it with my ortho next time, expl...

Re: Would you be concerned in this case?

I have already made an appointment to see my dentist asap, thanks for the suggestion though. :) The problem is I will have to pay to see my dentist... and technically this is an issue related to my braces - something I've already paid my ortho to manage. So I'm a little annoyed that I now have to se...

Would you be concerned in this case?

On saturday night, after I'd finished my teeth cleaning routine, I noticed a piece of food stuck in the middle (inside the little groove) of one of my ceramic brackets. I spent probably close to an hour trying to remove it - brushing, using those little christmas tree brushes, water flosser, using m...

I had a similar issue to begin with. I switched to smoke and haven't had an issue since.
Goodluck with the lig change. Your ortho may have suggestions on which shade will suit you best.

Re: How often do you have your teeth Cleaned?

I plan to go every six months, per usual. In fact I just had my first cleaning today after having my braces on for five months. Everything was absolutely fine :)

Bottom teeth are due to be braced on Wednesday.

My top teeth have been braced for about 5 months now, and assuming all goes well, I'm supposed to have the bottoms braced next Wednesday. Time is going so. very. slowly. I'm so nervous xD. I had a relatively easy time with my top teeth. I had the usual discomfort, but didn't suffer any mouth ulcers....

Re: Confess your orthodontic sins.

I worship coffee. I use a whitening mouth rinse almost daily....and possibly a whitening toothpaste. Maybe. >.> I only brush my teeth twice a day. I don't floss my top back teeth because they're too hard to reach and I'm lazy. Yet my dentist and ortho have been applauding my amazing oral hygiene. Ba...

I would say get it done with at one go. Eating will be an issue irregardless the number of extraction sessions.

You'll be fine. :)[/quote]

I second this. May as well get it over and done with all at once.

Re: Which electric toothbrush do you have and why did you choose it?

I have an Oral B triumph 7000 (black edition). I chose Oral B because thats the only brand with ortho heads that I could find. The model itself... it was half price. I'm sure cheaper models do just as great a job. The little timer it comes with is handy though -- I love keeping track of these things...
