Re: understanding gaps closure
My profile is the same since the gaps are still open. I know my front teeth need to move back but I don't want them to move too far back.

Re: share your soft food meals
The only thing that I can't eat the way I used to before the braces are hard fruit like apples unless I cut them up into smaller pieces. I remember my first weeks it felt so awkward to chew food I even bought a blender and only ate soft food. Nowadays I don't even remember the feeling of eating with...

understanding gaps closure
I have a hard time understanding how the gaps get closed without messing up the bite. Is it the molars sliding forward on the arch or the front teeth sliding to the sides and back? I've had two bicuspids extracted in the upper arch and my bite is pretty good at this point but I'm not yet at the gap ...

Re: 36 and braces
How many extractions did you have, and which teeth? Have your experience any changes to your face or lips due to these? I had my two upper premolars extracted. My bottom lip seems to be a bit thinner than before but it's really hard to tell. I think the facial changes may become more apparent when ...

Re: New to Braces! What's Your Routine?
How do you use waterpik so many times a day? Do you have one of the portable ones? I have a regular one at home but am thinking of getting myself one to carry around. I meant dinner I guess...My eating habits are a bit unorthodox, I water fast at work so my main meal is around 4PM on weekdays and I...

Re: How long did you use wax for?
I used it a few times I think in the first week. In my experience, the irritation usually only lasts a day or two and putting wax on only delays it so I stopped using it completely.

Re: second adjustment(:
I don't understand why they're so painful. I've been wearing elastics for 2 months now and had no pain at all. Are they class 2? Which teeth do you have them on?

Wow, I wish my teeth were as white as yours. Why do you need molar buildups? Do you have a deep bite? I wonder if I'll eventually get them as well.

No pain at all. I've been very lucky on that front. Hopefully it stays like that.

Re: Please tell me extractions aren't that bad
An incisor should pop out easier than a premolar. Most people who require extractions get their first premolars extracted, sometimes all four of them in one shot. I had 2 of mine pulled out and was fine by the time I got home. You'll be fine.

Re: 36 and braces
Ok, went in for another adjustment yesterday. My teeth moved a fair bit since the last ortho visit and my ortho was quite pleased with the treatment progress so far. The biggest change was my left upper canine came all the way down and is pretty much level with the other canine on the right. It also...

Re: What reactions have you had about your braces?
Well people started looking at me with a mixture of curiosity and disgust like I was some exotic australian insect or something...Some even expressed their disaproval openly by stating that I looked ridiculous and questioned my mental health. My work colleges would just turn their head when they wou...

Re: Mouthwash vs no Mouthwash
I've been using listerine regular 2-3 times a day. It has alcohol but I've never had problems with mouth dryness so I don't mind. I think it's because my mouth is used to greater concentration of alcohol from other sources . Also, if you can, get a waterpik.

I believe they're grey although I didn't really ask for these, the technician asked me if I wanted colored ligs on the bottom and I said no so she just put these on. I guess this is the default color.
