Re: Braces for the second time

Hi Zane, All went well thank you. The orthodontist and team was very nice and they explained everything clearly as they were fitting the braces. It took just over an hour to get the braces on. They also fitted power chains to both arches! She said the expected treatment time would be 12 months. Sinc...

Braces for the second time

After finishing treatment and having my braces removed 18 months ago. I was never happy with the end result. My teeth didn’t look perfectly straight and my bite wasn’t correct. I’ve been back to the orthodontist about this and she wasn’t really interested and said everything was fine. I’ve since bee...

Re: Changing Orthodontist

Hi Pequod, There's a few reasons for wanting to change. She originally told me the estimated treatment time and then when it was coming up to nearly a year into having my braces she doubled the time. I feel that she really isn't maybe the best orthodontist. Also I'm currently in the process of movin...

Changing Orthodontist

I'm currently thinking of changing to a different orthodontist due to not being happy with my current one.
I've been looking at eleven orthodontics in London. I wonder if anyone has used them or have any reviews.

Re: Decision time - Damon clear vs. Damon metal?

I had Damon clear top brackets fitted in 2016 and found that my top lip wouldn't cover the brackets. I also had lots of problems with brackets coming off. In the end I had them removed and replaced with the damon metal brackets at the appointment when my bottom brace was fitted. I wish I had done th...

Re: Cost of your braces

Hi I'm in the uk too and the cost for my damon braces is £5,600 A big investment but hopefully it will be worth it when there removed.

Re: Extended treatment time

She didn't really give me a reason for the extended time? I thought that my teeth were looking pretty good and would be more than happy as they are now. Since having having my new wires and power chains I definitely know it! At my next adjustment I'm going to ask why there's been such a extended tre...

Extended treatment time

I haven't posted on here for a long time. It's a year since I first got my braces on for the first time. Yesterday I went for my adjustment and was fitted with top and bottom power chains and new archwires. Originally I was told that my expected treatment time would be about 12 to 14 months, but now...

Re: Has anyone ever asked to change their bracket type?

Hi, I had ceramic Damon brackets and had the same problems with the brackets coming off. I found that that my top lip would always get caught and wouldn't cover the bracket. In the end I had the brackets removed and replaced with the Damon metal brackets. Since then I've had no problems and they als...

Re: Anyone else regret their ceramics?

Hi Samoorelaw, well last Friday I had my appointment for my top ceramic brackets to be replaced with the Damon metal ones the same as I have on the bottom. It took about 45 minutes to remove the brackets and glue and to fit the new metal brackets. She also fitted a thicker arch wire in the top and b...

Re: Anyone else regret their ceramics?

Samoorelaw I agree with you. I'm booked in to the orthodontist on Friday to have my top ceramic brackets removed and replaced to the Damon metal the same as I have on the bottom. I wish now that I had had the metal in the first place purely due to the brackets are mush smaller and more comfortable.

Re: Anyone else regret their ceramics?

I'm having my Damon top ceramic brackets replaced to metal ones on the 26th. Can't wait really don't like the ceramic ones as there to big and uncomfortable.

Re: Braces... Part Deux Progress!

Yes I have the Damon braces the same as you have. At my next adjustment appointment I'm having the clear brackets removed from the top arch and replaced with metal brackets the same as I have on the bottom. I find the metal brackets much more comfortable. Your progress is fantastic carry on the good...

Re: Braces... Part Deux Progress!

Your teeth are looking great. What is your expected treatment time? My bottom arch are crowded very similar to yours, I do hope they move as fast as yours. I was told that my treatment time will be 15 months. Good luck with the rest of your journey.
