Scratch that, instead of taking them off, he wanted to make one more adjustment to my top insisor which will take roughly one more week to finalise. For now it looks like the following Friday.

Re: 6 month smile journey
I agree, it doesn't fill me with much hope if they can move back that quickly. But I believe the fixed retainer that is glued into position behind the front 6 teeth will prevent them from moving once the brackets are all off, without this they would almost certainly all move again. I will certainly ...

Re: 6 month smile journey
During the last 6 weeks the treatment has gone backwards but has very recently (in the last few days) returned to how it was prior to those 6 weeks. A wire had come out ever so slightly on one of my top front teeth which lead to it moving out of alignment. As soon as I noticed this I contacted my de...

Re: Pain around molar/impacted wisdom tooth
I do have a cold at the moment which started when the tooth pain started, but currently no fever. My lymph nodes do not feel swollen.

Pain around molar/impacted wisdom tooth
The last couple of days I have been experiencing painful throbbing around my molar/impacted wisdom tooth while wearing braces. I had no idea what was causing it, but after taking some photos and having a look I think it might be an abscess? Can anyone confirm as I've never had one before? Will call ...

Re: 6 month smile journey
No, it's a bit uncomfortable, but no pain. Every time I've had it done I have been tense and wanting it to hurry up, but thats more because of the sideways force used, along with the quiet but audible grinding/sanding noise, not because of any pain.ntnch1776 wrote:Does IPR hurt, or do they use anesthesia?

Re: Power chain is torture...
Update! Nearing the end! My appointments are now ten days apart which is great because I have been wearing a power chain for two days and my god the pain. It's the same level of pain as week 1 in braces. Seriously. So the bottoms are basically there and we have a few tweaks on top. She put some hef...

Re: 28 year old fast braces
Elastics are a good thing, they really accelerate teeth movement. I found them irritating at first but they soon became the norm and I had no issues wearing them. I have recently been asked to stop wearing them after 5 months and actually kind of miss them!

Tilt canines outwards?
I'm currently undergoing six month smile treatment and have just had a power chain put over my front teeth (canine to canine) to bring the front teeth together and back. Does anyone know if the power chain will tilt the top canines outwards? I feel that they are tipping in slightly and could do with...

Re: What's wrong with my bite?
Hi whit, I'm being treated by a general dentist who is new to six month smiles. I wasn't too informed before I started the treatment in all honesty (my fault), which clouded my judgement on what I needed. Since having the braces put on I've done a lot of research and now feel it was a mistake to go ...

Re: What's wrong with my bite?
Thanks to everyone for the replies. I have another appointment next week with my dentist but I am going to call an ortho in the morning to book a consultation before the appointment. Does anyone know how much this will cost? I'm in the UK.
