28. Got my braces 6 months ago.

My dentist gave me a sample of Crest Pro-Health, the blue on, so I've been using that. Kind of gross as sometimes I spit out blue chunks.

Woah some of you got a "free" electric toothbrush?

My "goodies" bad included
-orthodontic toothbrush
-travel toothbrush
-travel size toothpaste
-1 proxabrush
-floss
-soft picks
-chapstick
-dental wax

I use a waterpik & superfloss. The waterpik by itself never felt quite clean.

I have this metal tube on my archwire too. Between my front teeth, just on the top though. It's not near a bracket though, right in the middle of my front teeth. I wonder what it's for...

Woah 3-4 week appointments? I've had braces for about 6 months, appointments always 8 weeks apart.

Does your orthodontist do all the work themselves? I don't always see her. More often than not I see one of the assistants. She changes the wires, offers me dental supplies and off I go.

I just came back from Vietnam 14 week vacation. My orthodontist had zero concerns & didn't think it would set me back progress wise. I brought lots of supplies with me. Lots of wax, superfloss, supersoft toothbrush. Brought tweezers & nail clippers with me in cases I broke a bracket. Advice ...

Great read! I feel slightly less guilty now. For me:

-I don't floss everyday
-I love gummy bears/twizzlers
-I still use my teeth to open packages, rip tape, bite my fingernails
-I still drink alot of coffee. It stains my teeth like crazy but I only drink through a straw now

Been in braces for 6 months & I've had molar build ups the last 2 for a deep overbite. I'm still having trouble eating as my back teeth don't touch, just the tiny part on my molar that is built up.
