Re: The worst part of having braces

Worst is the horrible cuts or sores inside your cheeks. Oh my, they hurt and nothing really helps except time, in my case. I thought I was done with those after 6 months but nope had one last week.

Is it OK to chew on one side?

Since I was braced almost 6 MO ago I have only chewed on the right side. This is because I have a missing tooth on the lower left side which has a spring and a gap for an implant. Gap is positioned right where I would chew food so I it feels unstable to chew over there and I'm afraid I'll break the ...

Re: Tea/coffee stains on teeth.

I started oil pulling a couple weeks ago and to my surprise my teeth are so white. I didn't know pulling helped to whiten, but boy it sure does. Do you use coconut oil? For how long do you swish it around in your mouth? Yes coconut oil, organic. I swish in the shower each morning about 10 min. So s...

Re: Ceramic vs Metal braces

[quote="DrJasonKTam"]The biggest medical consideration is that biting against a ceramic bracket is more likely to cause tooth wear or chip the opposing tooth. One other consideration is that often the ceramic braces are bigger than the metal braces and the wings of the bracket can be a bit...

Re: How often do you need to go in for unscheduled repairs?

Once to cut wire. A bracket broke 2 days before my wire change so I just waited. It was attached to a crown which makes for a higher chance to pop off. Or it could have been the bacon I was eating, but I'm going to blame the crown. They glued the heck out of it this time I noticed.

Re: Oil swishing Jawercerciser

I just started oil pulling with coconut oil 2 weeks ago. I read about the gum and tooth health benefits so decided to try. What I am surprised about is how white my teeth are! I haven't used whitening toothpaste in about 2 months and since oil pulling even the little stains in between my bottom teet...

Re: First post braces meal

I wonder if your teeth feel stable enough to take a big bite after the braces come off? I imagine it might be odd at first. I forgot how it felt to bite into something. Oh I miss popcorn. We have a movie theater popcorn machine at work so I have to smell the wonderful butter every day. Chips...I mis...

Re: Is this true? Elastics question.

Curious, how wide can you open your mouth comfortably with elastics? It seems like you wouldn't be able to yawn or really open your mouth as you normally would. Or have a big laugh without snapping one or being constricted. Is speech affected at all? My next adjustment is to square wires and probabl...

Lovelyteeth, they are Beautiful!!!!! Your name sure fits. Oh thanks carrieann. How are you going. Getting used to the bling? Yes very used to them, but it is sinking in how long I will have them and time is going by very slow. Just turned 39 and realized when I turn 40 I'll still have them. Then I ...
