Re: Last wire- Stainless Steel?

I had a lot of soreness in my lower teeth when the final wires were placed. It's been about two months in them and it seems settled now. The rubber band sounds like a finishing elastic. Do you put it in yourself? Is it strange that I wish I had one? Ha!

Re: Can braces expand the palate?

I was under the impression that the pallate fuses in adulthood and that expansion without surgery was not a permanent solution for adults. (Not a medical professional, so please feel free to disregard my response.) I was curious about it as well as I have an extremely narrow palate.

Re: Teeth/retainer cleaning regimin

Thanks for the quick responses. I'm sure I'd rather err on the side of cleaning more as I am almost positive I will be on 24/7 wear for a year as well. This is my second go round in braces and I'm trying to go above and beyond, since my ortho isn't very communcative. I already use a flosser, but I'm...

Bone graft soon after having a baby?

Has anyone had a bone graft done soon after having a baby? Also, I have read that some people can get a bone graft and the first part of the implant placed at the same time. How often does that happen and who usually is the ideal candidate for both a graft and implant placement on the same day? Than...

Teeth/retainer cleaning regimin

I'm preparing for my debanding date and I'd like to stock up on all of the things I will need to keep my retainers and teeth looking great. I know I will have both a Hawley and Essix retainer for work and I'm wondering what are some tips on setting up a cleaning schedule for your retainers. I plan o...

Re: Braces at 32

I'm nearing the end of my braces journey and I really want to post updated pictures, but I'm not sure how to do that on an iPhone. I'll have to dig around on here and see if it's possible. My ortho has me coming back in on March 22 and then she said she would start "closing me out," with a...

Braces at 32

I ended up getting braces a second time at 32. My first go round was during my teenage years and I was not properly educated on braces maintenance and proper elastic wear. Now that I am doing it again to fix other issues, I am trying to be as proactive as possible. I have a long road ahead of me as ...
