Re: So happy with my progress!
Update! I'm now 13.5 weeks in and have had two minor adjustments - both coils are now off (YEESSS!!). Just when the bottom row was perfectly straight, one of the things to pull in my bite made my front teeth spill back out unevenly (which at this point in the treatment, I'm told is a good thing as w...

It also says 4B 5/16" if that means anything to anyone lol. The first day hurt a bit, but now I don't notice. Hopefully time to move up!!

Re: Can anyone tell me how Damon work?
After getting my braces on (3 days ago!) I was amazed the ortho told me to set my appointment for 12 weeks out. He said I don't need to come in for adjustments more than that because the Damon brackets move the wire themselves. I'm trying to picture how exactly this works, but I can't figure it out...

Re: Has anyone's treatment time been shorter than expected?
This is purely wishful thinking here, but has anyone been given an estimated treatment time by their ortho but then as their teeth start to move this treatment time is then reduced? I ask because my teeth have moved so much in the first month that I can't imagine it will actually take the full 2 ye...

Re: Is 4 mm a significant overjet?
I raise you 12mm! Yup I had a 12mm overjet when I began! I'm another in the 12mm overjet club. I did have (4) extrations (premolars) because I have a very small mouth and there was no room to uncrowd bottom teeth or move top teeth without. However, I got down to a normal overjet, I'd say about 3mm ...

Re: When Did You Get Rubber Bands??
I've had my braces for 3-4 months and have been in bands for 2 and a bit weeks. Mine are to try to fix my overbite if that helps!

Re: Brace day tomorrow
Thank you all for your advise and tips. My appointment went well on Friday. I had a discussion with my orthodontist first. She said that the Invisalign braces would of worked for me, but she did Agee that due to my work that the fixed braces would be the better option. She set to work by taking my ...

So happy with my progress!
Hi Everyone! I just wanted to share my progress with you all so far! I'm just passed 6 weeks and can't believe how much my smile has changed. I have clear brackets on the top and metal on the bottom with a coil on the bottom (that whole area is a crowded mess) and a coil on the top (for my second in...

Re: How long will I have to live with buildups?
Been in braces for 6 months & I've had molar build ups the last 2 for a deep overbite. I'm still having trouble eating as my back teeth don't touch, just the tiny part on my molar that is built up. I have the same problem!! The pain is gone, but the only real bits of my teeth that touch (even a...

Re: What are your worst braces symptoms?
Besides the pain and ulcers, the weird facial expression I have when I try to have my mouth closed around my braces. I've got ceramic uppers and an overbite so folding my top lip over them makes me look pretty weird. Does anyone else know what I mean?! I have the same! It feels a lot weirder than i...

Re: I feel like ripping them off
I think you're going through the same thing everybody goes through, especially if you're an adult. I believe the vast majority off people on this board are here to ask, "Does it get better," and it really does. I have the dreaded molar buildups and thought I'd never be able to eat again. ...
