Re: Jaw surgery require TMJ surgery at the same time?

I would definitely consult another surgeon. TMJ is a very serios disease and the success rate on joint surgery is very low. Good luck

After jaw surgery, when can I have the deviated septum surgery?

Hello.

I had the jaw surgery 2 months ago and I want to ask you do you know how long should I wait until I can have the surgery for my deviated septum (I am a nose drops dependent since 20 years and still have problems breathing)?

Thanks,
Lucian.

So I had my splint removed and the surgeon said that the pain on one side is ok.
No I am back to orthodontic world.

When did you start biting / chewing?

Thank you very much for your help.

Keep in touch.

Re: Jaws don't fit splint after surgery?

Hello,

I had the splint put during the surgery so woke up after surgery with the splint on.
Also was wired shut with elastics for first 3 weeks.

I wish you all the best.

Lucian.

Re: Swelling and pain on eating on one side after 1 month

Thanks for your fast reply.
Indeed, from what I know they also did a rotation when performing the surgery.
Actually, tomorrow I will have the 1 month appointment with the doctor for taking out my splint.

I will tell him about the issue.

Many thanks!
Keep in touch.

Re: Swelling and pain on eating on one side after 1 month

I am allowed to open my mouth, since no more elastics, only splint.

So the pain on the left side is when I open my mouth and try to eat.

Re: March 2016 surgery buds

Hello, Also I had double jaw surgery on 1st of March for a huge class 2 overbite. (previously I had also SARPE last year) Indeed, the first week is the hardest one. I was lucky that I have a missing tooth so I could eat through this hole more. But the swelling, the sleep, the breathing, these are th...

How long did you have splint on?

Hello all,

Tomorrow will mark 25 days from my double jaw surgery and I will have my splint removed.
Just wondering, when is it normal the splint to be removed?
I have seen 6 weeks on a different blogs, so I am a little afraid that mine is taken off too early.

Thank you for your quick answers.
I have put myself a repeated reminder to put my tongue on the roof of my mouth.

All the best.
