Anyone had chin reduction?

If you had a chin reduction along with your jaw surgery or alone, can you tell me about it? How much reduction had been done? Are you satisfied with results? Which method had been done? Are there any side effects? How is your skin/soft tissue pad after surgery? Did it affect your lips posture? Thank...

Re: Double jaw surgery for asymmetrical/canted jaw. How likely is skin sagging?

Hello. I had asymmetry as well. I didn't have any skin sagging after surgery. Will they also shave your jaws? I've heard that it might cause skin sagging.

Re: I need advice! Please help!

I think the hardest part is that my chin used to be short and recessed a lot. So it is harder for me to accept that is a lot bigger now.
Anyways, your words really made me feel better and I thank you so much for this.

Re: I need advice! Please help!

Thank you so much for your honest opinion. ^^ I honestly don't want to go through surgery again, but sometimes I think all other people see is my long chin. That's why I wanted to ask if it is the case for a stranger who doesn't know me at all. My aim is not to become attractive but become not-weird...

I need advice! Please help!

Okay so since I can't get a proper answer from my family and my friends, I want to have an honest opinion here from you guys. Please answer honestly. I attached my photo. Now, is my chin too long? I know it is long but do you think that it is too long and should be corrected? Because it became like ...

Re: Results vs Risks vs Rewards

I think that it's a really personal thing. Jaw surgery is a major surgery and even simple procedures have their own risks so jaw surgery has its ups and downs. You already mentioned the possible negatives of this surgery. So you should ask yourself if you really need this surgery or you can live wit...

Genioplasty revision?

Hello all I want to know if any of you experienced a revision genioplasty? I searched the forum and saw a few posts but they were years ago and I can't contact with those people right now. My questions are: Why did you have a revision? Or if you didn't yet, why do you consider a revision? How is the...

Re: Hardware (plates, screws) removal post-op?

I had my screws and plates removed after 1.5 years. I did it because I was going to have a revision surgery so they had to remove hardware beforehand. Recovery was quick and fine. It was just a bit swollen and uncomfortable first 2 days. I could do my daily activities without any problem but it was ...

Re: Trouble with bad lip posture and mentalis strain after BSSO

How much movement had been done? Also, do you think your face is longer than before? I don't have an idea but maybe it's because when they moved your lower jaw forward, due to your gonial angle it became longer and caused your chin to go down? That's the only think I can think of right now. Do you h...

Karla, I had the same problem at first but I used paint to make pics smaller and to decrease quality of the pics. So I could add them.

Re: Revised folks - talk me down

Btw I'm 22 days post op from my revision surgery. Thanks! Why did you have to have yours revised? How has your recovery been? I will say the second time has physically been much easier for me, except the banding, but far more anxiety producing! My first surgery was a disaster. My bite was off, my j...

It's nice to hear that you are healing nicely. 6 weeks of tight bands is a long time. I hope everything will be better from now on!

Re: Should I change orthodontist?

Sorry to hear that. I don't have a good advice for you, unfortunately. It's normal that your bite is worse now. Before surgery your bite position must be the worst so that in surgery they can make more movements. Do your surgeon and your orthodontist work together usually? Or is it the first time th...
