I have the same thing - for me it's because the gap is large so if they wired it they think I will break the wire. My orthodontist wants the front teeth to move back a bit first so the gap is smaller before wiring the very back teeth
It will be and is all fine.

Thank you all for your help and support! I have braces where the wire goes through and round the brackets - does that make sense?
Sorry it's a whole new language to learn!

My brackets are applied to my teeth and the wire goes through that.
