Re: Finally doing it! Damon braces for bite issues

Finally out of those danged crossbite elastics! Ortho said my crossbite was gone and now time to work on my overbite. Got a new chain (blue this time) and Class II elastics. Will be getting my lingual arch out next appointment and replaced with regular brackets. 19 months in.

Re: Lateral going out

I think the chain is already working on that lateral a bit and/or the front tooth next to it.

Re: Hello! Crossbite elastics experience?

I have the opposite configuration; hooks on top with bands connecting to the brackets on bottom. I always take my bands out to eat but the hooks will definitely catch a lot of food, especially shredded meat and vegetables and anything that can be punctured (I have a hard time with grapes now, which ...

Got a power chain today. Would that help tip the teeth out further or is that mostly the archwire that does that? I know it'll close the gaps though.

Re: Finally doing it! Damon braces for bite issues

Got a power chain on top today! Still in the crossbite bands but the ortho says my molars on bottom are about where they need to be. I think he may either be making sure they're stable or taking it easy on me and doing one thing at a time, which is ok. I'd like to get done but at the same time I'm k...

Re: Lateral going out

That would make sense. My top teeth did point in quite a bit; in fact my top front teeth were starting to bite into my bottom front teeth. I am excited to see how my teeth continue to sort out in the next several months. They already look so much better and I don't have the pain I used to with that ...

Lateral going out

Noticed something looking through some old pics of my teeth. One of my laterals is going out of place. Thankfully not the one that used to be way out but the other one. It was almost in line back last August (bottom pic) but has drifted out of line (top, Wednesday). Going to ask my ortho of course b...

Re: Extended treatment

Following. I don't remember anything in my contract about that but of course that doesn't mean it wasn't in there. Worried about that a bit because my molars are taking a while to fix and I'm worried about going over the quoted time. I was quoted 30 months and am paying for 32.

Re: Braces BEFORE extractions?

I am now 16 months in & I still haven't heard for sure that I'm not getting extractions. Hoping at this point it means I won't.

Re: Finally doing it! Damon braces for bite issues

Found an old pic of my teeth before braces the other day. No wonder my teeth hurt; that one lateral stuck out A LOT! This pic even caught one of my wonky bicuspids.

Re: Damon for overjet

My Damon braces have helped a lot with mine. Hard to tell from pics at times because my front teeth pointed in quite a bit (I have a Class 2 Division 2 bite) but the way the Damon system works has helped widen my arch enough not to need extractions so far (my ortho had originally planned to).

Re: Finally doing it! Damon braces for bite issues

Posted a more detailed 15.5 month update today on the main board. Figured I'd at least do a comparison on this thread.

Almost 16 months in

Not sure how busy this page is lately but I figured I'd post an update to this board. First, my teeth after almost 16 months: 20200713_104357(1).jpg Next, my molars on bottom. Ortho put a bend in the archwire to help the one molar out of place (left of image) along. Does it look in place to you guys...
