Re: Finally doing it! Damon braces for bite issues

Found an old pic of my teeth before braces the other day. No wonder my teeth hurt; that one lateral stuck out A LOT! This pic even caught one of my wonky bicuspids.

Re: Damon for overjet

My Damon braces have helped a lot with mine. Hard to tell from pics at times because my front teeth pointed in quite a bit (I have a Class 2 Division 2 bite) but the way the Damon system works has helped widen my arch enough not to need extractions so far (my ortho had originally planned to).

Oh boy that's not good. Good to see your coworker is going to a specialist now.

Re: Finally doing it! Damon braces for bite issues

Posted a more detailed 15.5 month update today on the main board. Figured I'd at least do a comparison on this thread.

Almost 16 months in

Not sure how busy this page is lately but I figured I'd post an update to this board. First, my teeth after almost 16 months: 20200713_104357(1).jpg Next, my molars on bottom. Ortho put a bend in the archwire to help the one molar out of place (left of image) along. Does it look in place to you guys...

Re: Finally doing it! Damon braces for bite issues

14.5 month update. Not uploading a pic since not a lot of changes, up front anyway. Adjustment last Thursday. Ortho put a bend in my bottom wire to get one of the molars in place, feels like it has worked already. The other is in place. Still in crossbite bands, guessing to help secure the molars in...

Re: Help! Should I go to the dentist?

I would at least call and see. If the wire did bend, it will start putting your teeth more crooked.

Also yes, you can put pics on here but not right away. Usually between 5-12 posts (took me seven).

Better, updated views of the gaps. Are the gaps on bottom getting larger in ~2 weeks?

Re: Finally doing it! Damon braces for bite issues

Should update. Was able to get in last week; got a steel wire on bottom. Still in the crossbite bands. They must not only be doing their job on bottom but also on top. I'm developing a nice little gap between my front tooth and one of my laterals, and also between several of my bottom teeth. The pic...

Re: How is everybody doing??? Hanging in there???

I'm doing good. I had an appointment pushed back but so far it's still on for next week. Being home more sure makes it easier to keep up on the hygiene aspect. I think the extra time on my hands gives me more chances to notice the remaining imperfections in my teeth, but then I have to remember I'm ...

Re: Ortho Positives from Covid-19

I'll admit, the mask hiding my braces is nice. On the other hand, though it may just be where I am in my treatment, I have more time on my hands & I am noticing the remaining imperfections in my teeth more.

Re: Finally doing it! Damon braces for bite issues

OFFICIAL 13 Month update:

Appointment got pushed back a couple of weeks due to Corona. Currently scheduled for May 7; hopefully that will hold.

Top wire and rubber bands appear to be working, as far as I can see. Pics in the next post.

13 Months In!

I've had braces for 13 months now. Some days I love having braces. One, they feel like they have become a part of me. Two, the ability to improve myself in some way. Three, I got them for a painful bite and the pain I had before is gone. Other days, I'm ready to be done with them. To see my new teet...
