Not sure if this link will work but this Facebook page has a lot of people with condylar issues that are getting the joint replaced. Not sure if that is the same but it may have more information then arch wired.

Re: Looking for insight on chewing progression
Yes I started with fish then ground beef pattie then chicken and lastly steak. Its very easy to hurt your jaw when switching to harder foods so take it slow and be careful. I ate smashed spaghetti Os a lot when I was hungry but could not have meats yet.

Re: Kissing after BSSO - does permanent numbness ruin it?
A lot of people say this is the case but my lower lip and chin where numb and I don't think it would effect kissing because it only the outside skin. once it moves in towards the lip area that a cup would sit you wouldnt be numb and the inside of the mouth is not numb. So Im pretty sure people use m...

Yes it does. This worked for me and the surgeon said that was a way for me to see what to expect.

Re: Cutting IAN branch to stop nerve pain in lower lip
Yes I am going to wait for sure, but if this doesnt get better Im trying to decide if it would be better to be totally numb or have the altered sensations that are bothering me. I just started taking nortripline (sp) but I think the meds just cover this up and I probably should have been on it by no...

Cutting IAN branch to stop nerve pain in lower lip
Feeling hopeless at 7 months my lower lip is still constantly ( except when sleeping) in nerve pain. I don't know how to describe it other the feeling extremely stiff and it stings when I apply lip stick or gloss and when eating or excersising. I doubt anyone on here has had the procedure but the OS...

Re: When can I rinse/gargle my mouth?
Yes I had this problem for about a month or more. Im not 11.5 week po. Its from your numbness. when you swish inside your mouth you can't feel it so it just goes everywhere. I knew i regain some feeling when I could finally keep the water in my mouth.

Re: 8 weeks post lower BSSO forward still burning pain
Hi CandyApple, last year I had significant nerve trauma while having my wisdom teeth out. What you are describing is exactly what I was feeling. It took about 4 months or so for the icy cold feeling to start going away, but even a year later, if my bottom lip was touched, it sent little shocks stra...

8 weeks post lower BSSO forward still burning pain
So it's been eight weeks. I still can't put on lipstick eat different kinds of food or talk for very long without my lip and chin burning. Some of the areas on one side seem to be a little bit less abnormal to touch but that's about the only change toward normal to this point. I could deal with numb...

Re: Fall/Early Winter 2016 Surgery Buddies
Was your BSSO forward or backwards.? Mine was forward but I did have a lot of swelling which made my smile almost disappear like it was somewhat going backwards after about two weeks the muscles and the swelling started to loosen up and my smile started to come out and look wider. If you had it goin...
